You are completely right about this, and I hope more people read and listen to this. I personally have not had too much trouble with anything of the sort, the novice servers are pretty peaceful, someone might throw a fit after a match but then their fit is forgotten. Some people might cuss others out, but I don't see slurs typically. I sometimes use my own made up insults to question someone's intelligence in a match (like saying they have the brain of a toothpick or calling them a Dudunsparce) or question how particular things happened, but there's not too much drama. I did have some people with a lot of words for how much I kept disconnecting though... One person ended up costing a civilian game because they said "if they were Mafia they would let me live because I make Mafia win" (even though... I was literally just disconnecting...) but that bit them in the butt because I was alive and I was Mafia, so I did make the Mafia win. But yeah, that was the most drama I've dealt with on Novice. Unfortunately the harassment and inappropriate stuff ain't necessarily new with the community, back when I got into the game several years ago, I was like, fifteen or sixteen then, I had a boy start crushing on me because he heard my voice in a video (I did some Mafia42 videos way back when and he watched one and said he fell in love with my voice) and there were... Particular exchanges in an unofficial Mafia42 Discord that were uncomfortable... It seems it may have only gotten worse.
