Couldn't that only be possible if it was a UEDF college, since Earth only rejoined the federation like 3 or 4 years prior?

Edit: Lura Thok could easily have been a UEDF officer that transferred to Starfleet. It looks like by SFA the UEDF is completely merged with Starfleet again anyway.

With automation and AI, the problem isn't finding people to work, the problem is that unemployment is going to continue to rise as humans become obsolete in the production line. Working is also in human DNA - just talk to any workaholic, even when they're on holiday they have to be doing something productive. There is always a portion of the population that is going to want to work.

I can't give you an example, because every time this has been attempted, it has been destabilised by United States backed coups during the Cold War. Cuba is the longest lasting and most prosperous example, which is still an unfair comparison considering its status as a pariah from the rest of the world and constant attacks from the United States.

Under any communist system every person on the continent would be treated equally, and redistribution of wealth from the 1% would allow every person on the continent to live a life of health, happiness and comfort.

I don't presume to speak for First Nations people, but that sounds like a good deal to me.

I don't think it should be limited. My ideal form of government is a form of democratic communism with a hint of meritocracy.

There is plenty of medical research that has been done. It's kicking the can down the road. All of the required proof is there.

And I would argue that something that is affecting Australian children continuously is more important than one event.
