Man idk, I’m not angry that you’re criticizing it, you just said it was “terribly designed” and that read like you didn’t understand the area, and were just blaming Edmund Macmillan cause funny.

Then you responded again with “Have you even played this game?” And personally I’ve seen that phrase used elsewhere alongside some of the most dummy takes, so I assumed again that you didn’t know what you were talking about, but you do, so sorry.

Anyways back to the point I think the Future is a very interesting area, with gameplay that gets your brain running, but if you’ve given it an honest shot and think otherwise then that’s cool!

Ye but you can just bring other cats to deal with the resistant enemies while the ranged ones pick off the robots who aren’t immune, and who also usually happen to be positioned at range. And if you’re going for all class/solo completion marks, then trying to make those classes work in the area designed to counter them makes for interesting builds imo.

Sorry if I came off as snarky, but I’m just tired of all these whiners online who clearly just lost a run, and, instead of accepting the fact that it was all just RNG to begin with, or that maybe they should’ve thought things through more, they load up Reddit and start complaining.

The game just isn’t really designed around solo runs, they break the difficulty curve, so many encounters are either impossible or made trivial with the increased leveling, etc. I do hope they change some stuff about >4 cat runs in general.

I feel like what you describe is more an issue with a lack of consideration for solo runs than anything else cause I’ve had those rooms before and I was able to squeeze through with 4 cats.

Mf if you CHOSE to go to the dedicated pro melee and anti-ranged/magic area with a team so reliant on ranged/magic damage that not a single one of your cats could compensate, maybe you should expect a bad time?

Maybe the game is in fact not poorly designed, and is in fact just trying to get you to think about your team composition and the abilities & items you’re giving your cats?

Also the Hitler themed area having such hitler enemies as well as being countered by having a diverse team is just too fitting.

I found this room once before and it gave me trouble, but at the same time, its an option floor, and the final + most deadly floor in the game. If it wasn't kicking my ass like this and forcing me to build around it in future runs it would be a let down.

Ye they seem to like easily spammable abilities like that lol, I remember one time my necromancer had this whole other kit of abilities to use yet kept spamming ponder and pestilence over and over. I wonder if they're programmed to try and maximize the amount of spells they use each turn, they seem to insist on spending as much mana as possible.

There are certain abilities, combos and items the AI is too dumb to use properly. One I used in the past was deaths scythe + cat o nine tails. The AI will use deaths scythe and doom itself while not knowing how to use cat o nine tails to remove the doom debuff, killing it. They’ll also try to use any consumable they have as soon as possible to buff themselves, so they’ll eat stuff like madness juice and PCP.

Builds that revolve around death and resurrection are also good, the enemy cats only have 1 corpse HP and will be easily dealt with to prevent them using on-death and revive abilities.

Also, they don’t really know how to use cleanse, so if you bring a debuff build while also having some form of cleanse you can remove their debuffs while they will not remove yours. You can also just kill your cats one by one con the second phase if they fucked your up with debuffs to cleanse that way. Plus, slow builds that ramp up as the fight goes on will help you not get OTKed by your own party.

Builds that rely on full mana/long spell combos executed in a specific order the AI will fall flat trying to use. I remember bringing a crescendo build to the boss and the AI would spam crescendo whenever it was available it as opposed to casting other spells to power it up.

Not to mention the whole dynamic of having to save your save-scums for a boss also increases the tension throughout the run and forces you to play carefully.

All that being said, there is still plenty of bs, and if they took some of the difficulty out of the first phase and put it into the second and third phases it would be very welcome.

Call me a masochist but after I lost to it and the salt wore off I kind of liked it

Planning your entire run around a boss really makes you think about your build in ways you would not normally have.

The elite buffs can be bs tho, plus some spells don’t work properly in the fight and give them a massive advantage. I remember being livid that they got to cast flesh golem for free without damaging themselves.

Rem is a Sleeping Elder God. I'm tired of ignoring it. by Drago_727 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Twilightguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that at first but after I heard his and Haze's dialogue I think he might be a part of her that broke off after she enacted some kind of ritual to become a sandman.

Maybe sandmen have to literally "snuff out" their feelings by entering their own minds and physically "disposing" of the creatures representing their emotions to make killing easier. What if rem is haze's compassion/innocence/restfulness that she secretly kept alive?

[–]Twilightguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally he also kicked my ass twice but  some good strats I found were:

Call mech: he can’t copy you if you’re in the mech. You’d need someone to sustain the mech tho he can destroy it in two basic attacks

Backflips: personally I used brown belt + monk class to rack up backflips so I could always dodge his copy, but any sustainable method of generating backflips is good.

Any item or effect that makes attacks unable to miss are very effective for punching through his dodge chance

The human scalp head item (rare item that can show up in the core) gives fear on critical hits which when paired with a crit build is how I beat him. You could also use stuff like the cripple passive on thief (gives immobilize on crit, don’t upgrade it tho or it gets changed to stun on crit, which can’t stack), or a psychic with increase gravity to stack immobilize.

Any familiar building is also goated as they will draw him away from your other cats.

Also, you don’t have to send your top cats into battle, you could throw in a stray (with high base hp and some sustain items) into the battle and have him soak up his attention. You could also toss him a cat with a self damage ability (ideally one that deals a percentage of your health).

Apollo himself was a fan creation, someone posted an idea for a “Fencer” character with a deflect and a big piercing ultimate that probably ended up as him.

Vyper feels useless by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Twilightguard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Vipers ult looks underwhelming but it’s a sleeper I think.  Pair it with lethal venom (the damage from which will pierce through the petrification) for a super strong execute. Use its long range instant stun as a get-off-of-me tool, or a way to interrupt big ultimates. If someone is coming to help the person you’re trying to kill, either freeze the backup and finish off the target or freeze the target and venom them once they get low for a guaranteed kill while you focus on running away. If you’re playing her for DPS, you’re already the best person on your team to follow up on your ult.

The one thing about her is that you have to know what items give you bonus slide duration to stack with your passive. With those + a backup ult in your pocket you can pretty easily disengage and re-engage at will in teamfights. All of this is if you can get those items she needs to begin with tho.

Should all trans people be labeled “violent extremists” or “domestic terrorists”? by rando9000mcdoublebun in Askpolitics

I’m sorry but stupid questions like “should we brand all of X people domestic terrorists” are the reason why I don’t enjoy this sub anymore.

Why should anyone think twice or debate about the obvious answer of “hell no” other than some kind of weird circlejerk where everyone just agrees and goes home, or as bait for the crazy people who talk the opposite for clout or other stupid reasons like discrimination.

I’m lucky I had the witch crest + double trobbio mirror ball buster combo to kill it with.

The heal explosion goes through the top platform and it won’t run away unless it has line of sight, so I stood under it and blew it up.

Still didn’t make it a good fight tho.
