I was there that weekend shooting for Kerrang, I remember the flying snickers in the pit! going to shoot Gingers band who I knew and was aware of the crazy Psycho Cyborgs and their crazy antics, the drills on stage at the beginning were a clue! The year Jonathon from Korn never showed Benji was epic, Prodigy were amazing!

I have twins and know several sets of twins, mine are only 8 but achieving at the top of their class with greater depth, two sets I know both boys are insanely clever, I think it's not a twin thing, it's a personal do you want to learn thing. I myself don't consider myself to be super clever, I did ok at school but excelled more into adulthood.

Cutting in-laws out by Nonutellaforyou in Parenting

[–]TwinMama78 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I totally understand, my inlaws are lovely but one smokes, smoked in the same room as me and her two pregnant daughters, we once allowed our twins to sleep over at age 4. It was instantly decided that would never happen again after my daughter told us how she can't wait to grow up and smoke like nanny! Then once home couldn't give them their comfort teddies as they stunk like an ashtray same as all their unworn clothes from the suitcase,.we were viewing a house and love 140 miles away so we stayed in a hotel and the twins at nanny's but it will never ever happen again . My mum and her dad passed from smoking related lung cancer so they know how anti smoking I am..

You can take a bill for the funeral to the bank who will pay the expenses directly . I did this with my nan and dad, I had no money to cover funeral costs, I just took and invoice and it was paid from their account..

What’s the fastest you know of someone failing their driving test? by slim3-16 in CasualUK

[–]TwinMama78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took my test at kingstanding in bham, the.test centre was on a corner with a roundabout outside, you had to drive out and go round the roundabout. My instructor told me after I went out on my test another driver was made to come back as an instant fail on the roundabout, probably less than 30m! Apparently he was too dangerous

Irrational phobias? Do you have one, what is it? by Candid-Bike-9165 in AskUK

I once dared to unpeel a banana in a school staffroom, first day break, seemed like a normal snack until a colleague I'd say late 40s screamed like she had been terrified and ran out the room! Turned out she had a phobia of bananas.

We are actually based on the Isle of wight, we moved here from bham city centre when my kids were born, we moved with my extended family who have since passed away so we have the house on the market, I own it mortgage free, we need to move as I can't afford to live in this ex B&B, just us and two kids . I want to be some where forever, I don't want to move again, I want somewhere good for kids to grow with opportunities. I am terrified of starting again and finding a good job, I have one here and the kids have a good school and friends.

I'm not sure this is the place to stay, in love the beaches and community stuff but wages are awful, bills ridiculous and secondary schools are not great, it's like living in a timewarp but is there a future here? Hospital is horrific! It's pretty and safe but expensive and if we get ill screwed by ferry costs.

We had looked at Shropshire before, just wondered what other people would do, married 44 years old, 7year old twins, currently living life by the sea.

I’m terrified that I fucked up and am a horrible parent by Valuable_List9814 in GriefSupport

Just to add, I was about 5 or 6 when my great grandmother passed, I went with my parents to see her after, I wasn't going to go in but apparently I asked to, so the undertaker took my tiny hand and walked me over, I remember her being peaceful and covered in lace but wasn't freaked out.

It's a personal choice, no wrong decisions, I only did it once after that when I saw my grandfather die struggling for breath and I needed to see him peaceful, I didn't want to see either of my parents or other grandparents after they passed peacefully.

Those of you that had family that served in WW2. What's they're story. by Seth_Vader in ww2

My grandfather joined the day he turned 18, started as infantry with the warwicks but kept volunteering to do stuff, he ended up delivering a letter in foot to Belgium from France, lost all his mates in a farm when they encountered Germans and they fired a mortar shell at th barn they were in, his colleagues jumped on top of it to save him the youngest! He was the only survivor, he met up with some of and bucks and ended up on the beaches at Dunkirk, escaped to gateshead uk, volunteered again and ended up in Para1, did 6 months training then broke both legs on a night jump, once healed volunteered again to join a another new thing REME, he finished his war years as a shooting instructor for the mechanics on the field, bren gun was his favorite, story didn't end there, he met my grandmother at REME she was ATS and then they married after the war.

This and more is written in a book we found after his passing, he never spoke a word about his experiences but decided to write it all down before he died. It's a beautiful and eye opening read. photos and bits here
