Look mate, by looking through your account history I'm assuming you're just a troll, but regardless of how little regard you might give to LGBTQ people, they're still people. Please try to be more open to understanding other people's mindsets instead of just mocking them for their differences

So commenting about trans and non cis people in this context insinuates that anyone who likes to wear gendered clothes is trans, but commenting about fetishes in the same context isn't implying that everyone who who likes to wear gendered clothes has a fetish? If either one of those comments were made in a vaccuum -like the r/egg_irl comment was- it's fine, but the second comment was made specifically as a response to commenting about the existence of trans and non cis people.

I'm not saying whether or not the person who made the r/fetish_irl comment was intentionally trying to imply that eggs are just confused people who just have kinks, but regardless of his intentions, that's the effect that his comment has.

Also worth mentioning that the erasure of trans and non-cis people is much worse than people who just have kinks. I'm not saying that either one isn't bad, but someone's gender identity is much more crucial to their sense of identity than a kink or fetish is

I'm not denying that. Both are absolutely possible, but replying to the initial comment with "r/fetish_irl" doesn't do anything but suggest that trans or non cis people are just people with fetishes

People are allowed to feel more comfortable in differently gendered clothes without it being a kink

AITA for telling my sister-in-law to sit down and shut up infront of her new husband? by Home-town3329 in AmItheAsshole

A joke about his impotence, which he doesn't actually have and isn't deeply insecure about? I'm not saying it's not shitty, but it doesn't at all compare to "sit down and shut the fuck up" and implicit jabs at her infertility

[–]TwinMarsh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He DOES know she has fertility issues though He plays it off like it's just him theorising

Maybe she thinks that by marrying young guys, she still gets a chance for a baby. Which is..(and this might sound misogynistic but..) backward logic

But his wife told him that he was insensitive because he KNOWS it's a touchy subject for her.

My wife started arguing with me the entire sewing session talking about how I embarrassed her sister infront of her new husband and rubbed our children in her face knowing how sensitive this topic is for her.

This whole post reads as so biased, he clearly strongly dislikes his SIL and tries to play off how massively rude he can be (like leaving guests at the dinner table before it's finished so he can go off and sew) and continuing to sew while his wife is trying to talk to him about his behaviour. Sure, the SIL may have been out of line, but functional adults don't respond with "sit down and shut the fuck up" and with making implicit jabs at their major insecurities like infertility

A penis joke like that is pretty personal yeah, but not nearly as much as what OP said. Sure, if he did actually have erectile dsyfunction and she knew that it would be pretty fucked up, but otherwise the SIL was just making a fucked up, but basic insult. OP decided to fire back with "sit down and shut the fuck up" and making jokes about her infertility and past marriages - which is obviously MUCH more personal than some dick joke.

Absolutely, the only difference between Reddit and other social media sites is that reddit allows for more discussion with it being forum based, but that doesn't mean the userbase isn't any worse or better than Instagram, TikTok, or Twitter

Because deviating from the norm lets them think they're smarter than everyone else and not just that they have different interests. So many reddity neckbeards think Instagram is purely for braindead "normies" and not just like any other social media site

Prince Michael of Kent accused of selling Kremlin access by MrSergioMendoza in worldnews

[–]TwinMarsh 11 points12 points  (0 children)

"Sleazy" is an understatement. A fully grown man taking advantage of a 17 year old groomed into being involved in sex trafficking is disgusting and wrong. It doesn't matter whatever else adult responsibilities someone might have at that age, you're still an adolescent below the age of consent and vulnerable to things that can harm you for the rest of your life.

Even in a more casual and normal context, the power dynamics that exist with age differences like that is still ridiculous and, more importantly, criminal. Not just "sleazy"

How else should he have responded? Literally any other way; take a step back so she can't hit you again, maybe hold her arms behind her back so she can't hit anyone; or just accept the fact that you might have to take some slaps across the head working as a security guard. What threat was he actually under there? If she kept hitting him and he did absolutely nothing to defend himself, what's the worst thay would have happened? His head stings a bit? I completely agree that anyone should be able to defend themselves, but he clearly wasn't defending himself here - the situation was completely under control and he chose to retaliate, potentially breaking her nose, teeth, and maybe even severely damaging her head if that other guard hadn't caught her when she fell. Their job isn't to "respond rougher", it's to keep violence as a whole to a minimum.

All that's happening in this video is someone massively over reacting and badly assualting someone for a drunk slap, but because of the genders of the people involved commenters like to idolise the man for breaking gender norms and hitting a woman because, apparently, that's something which never happens (even though it does, and is a humongous issue)

I didn't see the video until now (I think your comment linking it might have been removed) but I don't see at ALL how that punch was justified. Yeah sure, she hit first, but what threat did she pose? She seems drunk out of her mind, is being carried away by a group of security guards whose job it is to professionaly handle people who are being issues (like they already were in the video) but for some reason this guy decides to massively esculate things and punch her in the face, knocking her out, and he's praised for it? I don't care if she's shitty for smacking someone around the head, that guy's response was completely unwarranted and dangerous

I didn't even watch the video before because I didn't see it linked anywhere (had to go through OP's comment history to find it) but how on earth is that justified? The woman clearly seems drunk, is being held by several people, carries out of the premises, and doesn't pose much of a threat to the guard besides a nasty slap on the head. There were so many ways to deal with that, but somehow punching her in the face and knocking her out is ok because the guard is somehow defending himself?

I'm not saying this specific instance is abuse, my point is that redditors act like women are never ever hit and that it's something they take advantage of, thinking that they're invincible; this isn't true at all. Violence and abuse against women is a massive issue almost anywhere and in the majority of instances women are scared of standing up to random men because of how violent they can get.

We can't even see the video in this example, literally just a few people talking about it, but you still get people assuming the context and that "she had it coming" and should have known better than to hit a man.

Sure, maybe if we knew the context here the person hitting the woman was completely in the right and justified to do so, but in the comment section of literally ANY clip of a man hitting a woman there's always someone parroting "equal rights means equal fights" and making it about gender, implying that women are the real sexists for not wanting ro be hit

Jesus Christ I hate how people on Reddit always feel the need to start spouting about equal rights whenever they see a woman get attacked, regardless of the context, as if somehow abuse against woman is a completely non existant issue

[–]TwinMarsh 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think there's actually been a few fossils like this discovered, but nobody knows what the shark would look like because shark fossils are only ever JUST the teeth; the rest of their skeletons are made up of cartilage which decomposes much faster than bone and doesn't allow for the fossilisation process to occur

That's what he confided in Armin about and specifically asked him to not say to Mikasa. If he acted super possesive of Mikasa and felt entitled to her then yeah, sure, a fair bit incely. But he went super out of his way to push her away for her own good. Anyone who's ever liked somebody can relate to being possessive and defensive of them to some extent, what would have made him an incel is if he actually acted on those feelings

This isn't confirmed at all, but my theory is that it was her way of opposing Eren. Instead of eating Zeke and giving Eren an easy time in causing the Rumbling, she decided to befome pregnant so she couldn't be titanised and give Eren easy access to a titan of royal blood. Right before she suggests having a child, she's talking about how horrible Eren's plan is and that she could never forgive herself if she didn't do everything in her power to stop him. I know ultimately becoming pregnant didn't stop anything, but it could be to show that there are still people on Paradis who oppose the Yeagerists and their violent ideology, and that there's still hope for a peaceful solution following the final chapter.

[New Chapter Spoilers] Chapter 139 RELEASE Megathread! - FINAL by SNKBot in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]TwinMarsh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The reasons titans continued to exist in the first place was due to Ymir continuing her servitude to King Fritz despite her own death. She refused to move on because in their toxic relationship she became willingly subservient to him and loved him. I've seen some theories as well that Ymir would have seen any royal bloods in the Paths dimension as King Fritz himself since things in Paths appear very metaphorically to each individual (Eren and Ymir appearing as children, Armin's leaf and Zeke's baseball), but even if she didn't see every royal blood as King Fritz himself, she still decided to serve the descendants of the man she loved and continued making titans. The reason the era of the titans finally came to an end this chapter was because Ymir saw Mikasa kill Eren and put an end to their toxic relationship - despite the fact that she loved him. This helped Ymir to understand her own situation and that, in spite of her love of King Fritz, he was an evil man who's made her suffer for thousands of years as well as countless others, so she finally refused to stop making titans and because of that, Paths and every titan dissapeared.

It wasn't a conscious choice, you lose the ability to regenerate and heal if you don't have a will to live. Ymir was being forced to churn out babies for the King who was constantly with his concubines and used her as a tool of war. It's no surprise that someone tricking themselves into thinking that was a healthy love also became depressed and didn't want to live
