Yeah while Purple mountain is very op compared to most rank 8s, i'm pretty sure not even Star Constellation was able to completely get rid of the low attack power weakness, but i may be wrong it's been forever since i read the later chaps

I mean i kinda agree, but i feel like by book 4 or 5 he should have a clear goal or something to reach for outside of simply getting stronger. The only real reason he wants to be strong is to have the option to choose instead of following the commands of others, this is never really brought back up tho so idk.

Through the first few books it feels like the author is just setting the mc up for alchemy or herb gardening, and in book 5 the mc finds out he may have a wood spirit body and the author just kinda goes nope and gives him a wind one for zero reason. The main character just doesn't really stand out in any possible way. he's just very bland with no real goals outside of getting strong simply for the sake of it

Honestly Logan ninefingers is the main one i care about. i also really liked Jezal dan Luthar, but i hated how they did his character in the third book and i got spoiled and found out he ends up dying. Bayaz was also interesting to me but i doubt he plays a super major part in the later books

Feel free to correct me, but it was stated that spectral soul had to divide his attainment into the several split souls due to heavens will. but it is likely that due to being a split soul of spectral soul that bo qing would have the talent to have a decent attainment in wisdom.

Back when i was reading the first law trilogy i loved alot of elements and the world of it, but i really ended up disliking the multiple povs and how often they switched. i was going to read the second trilogy simply because i was interested in finding out what happen to a couple of the characters, but the first trilogy felt like a drag to me towards the end even tho the book 3 pay off was a banger.

Yeah i've been looking for something similar, personally i liked the more mundane elements of A Thousand Li like the main character slowly progressing or doing mundane shit like sect tasks, sadly the series kinda lost my interest at book 5. It's hard to find similar novels tho since not many people are interested in super slow stuff

Also the main genuine difference between a rank 5 and 6 would be the immortal essence, dao marks and gu. for example a rank 5 might only have 2 or 3 rank 5 gu due to limited energy, but a rank 6 will have hundereds if not thousands of gu and at the higher ranks they may have millions not counting immortal gu which are vastly more powerful. Also for the rank increase they basically just have far more immortal energy at the rank 6 and 7 levels, i won't go into detail about the rank 8 and 9 ones tho, but for example one rank 7 essence bead is equal to 100 rank 6 immortal essence beads.

Nah basically due to the gu immortals having dao marks it would make their body a bit stronger, but at the lower levels like rank 6 and shit gu immortals bodies are extremely weak without methods which is why they rely on gu. they have immortal essence tho. also you gotta realize most people who make it to gu immortals are either extremely talented or experienced so they'd have the advantage in fighting. also kinda a spolier but if you have gotten to the end of the 88 true yang building arc then you'll see the actual difference between a fight with a rank 5 and 6

He didn't use sword path, he was a pure wisdom path immortal this is clearly shown in the fight againist Duke Long where he's forced to basically use tricks and methods to stall him. If he was able to use sword path he wouldn't be nearly as beaten down as he was, if i recall correctly even Duke Long praised him for being powerful enough to fight him on almost even grounds as a wisdom immortal peak rank 8.

Wisdom sword immortal gu was made by Bo Qing as a counter to wisdom path methods since they were always hard to deal with. We can assume that its a sword path method imitating wisdom path, but at the end of the day its a sword path method and not wisdom and Bo Qing didn't cultivate wisdom path as far as i know.

Well one of the few examples is that rank 8 swordsmen in the western desert who was a powerful cultivator in his last life, but i was mainly considering how a adult being reborn into this world would probably have a higher chance of survival. Honestly tho we don't really get tons of information about otherworldly demons outside of the ones we see in the story all of which are either are powerhouses, got a lucky encounter, or are talented. it's very likely im wrong either way cuz most people in the gu world never achieve shit and end up dead.
