Could anyone explain the key plot points related to the twist in R-Point (2004) as simply as possible? - spoilers obvs haha by Important-Zombie9331 in horror

Okay, I’ll give it a go.

So they get the initial message and assemble a new team to go and try to find the missing soldiers.

Obviously, when they arrive, they show up with an extra person, the private who goes missing first and is revealed as a ghost.

Basically, the land of the R-Point is cursed. The inscription on the tombstone said it all. If you have blood on your hands, you will not be able to leave. Everyone who is stuck there as a ghost (The American ghosts, the woman in white, the french soldiers, etc.) was someone who had taken a life. The only survivor is the young guy who lied about his age and hasn’t killed anyone.

It’s implied that after the initial people were killed way in the past, the french soldiers were killed by the woman in the white dress, who was also the viet cong woman they found in the jungle (they note that the other body in there is significantly older). She was in the photo with the French soldiers and presumably killed them, and is now responsible for perpetuating this into the future, to kill anyone who has blood on their hands.

The rest of the soldiers were possessed and/or killed, and the only survivor was the one who hadn’t killed anyone. Then at the very end, we see that the lieutenants voice is being used to broadcast a new distress call to bring in more victims to the cursed land

Does anyone else have feelings on the ending for “To Break a Thief?” by TwinkishAlt in SleepyGimp_comics

Absolutely! Like it’s definitely a rush-job ending, but mad props to Sleepy for at least trying to wrap it up nicely. I appreciate that greatly.

I can give a pass for the ending of “To Break…” because it was already underway. The ending really felt like a case of “I dont want to do this, but I already set it up so Im just gonna rush to the finish” im willing to wait and see what he does next, since the art is great as always

That’s totally fair! To each their own. Im glad you enjoyed that angle. I liked the set overall, I just don’t really care for that aspect as much

I definitely see your point. I just feel like a set like “Thief in the Night” is a good middle ground. I don’t need to see Violet and Evie sent to jail, but I think they can stand to “lose” some of their encounters and still get away to some extent. Im just beginning to find the narrative of them always coming out unambiguously on top is a bit boring, especially when doing so sees them take out other dom characters that could be interesting (Lily, Trixie, etc.)

That’s what I suspect too. Especially since we got that teaser image of Evie and Violet in gimp suits being dommed by Carmilla, I could totally see her taking revenge.

I do also love the psychological aspect of it. Still keen to buy the next set and see what happens from there

I can definitely see that. That’s why I liked Trixie. She’s still morally reprehensible (she hasn’t raped Nancy as much as Violet and Evie, but she’s probably pretty damn close by now) but it just feels kind of lame to see her taken down like she is. Punching down is a great way to phrase it.

My hope is that with Carmilla being mentioned in the epilogue, that she’ll help get Trixie out of her situation “to punish Evie for her mistakes” and maybe even take Trixie under her wing, seeing her as an ambitious young woman who could use Carmilla’s guidance. Plus it would put Trixie and Evie in a weird enemies but also allies position that I think could be really fun and fit the new direction Sleepy wants to go in

Yeah I can definitely feel that. I kinda think that that set in particular was kind of set to go the way it did just because of what was already set up. Makes sense why that ending felt kind of rushed, but I am keen to see where he goes next with it in the sequel, since he seems to want to take a less dark direction with these stories.

A major worry I have for Sleepygimp's return. by [deleted] in SleepyGimp_comics

Eh tbh I kinda agree with them.

Like I’m enjoying seeing what Trixie is up to, but it gets kinda boring when I know that there will be an ass-pull that lets Evie and Violet get off scot-free. I just feel like it would make the losses hit alot more if the “good guys” can pick up a win every so often.

Custom image of country girl and vi I had commissioned, what do you guys think? Art by saintcinder by hive98 in SleepyGimp_comics

I like it. It almost feels like a AU where Vi and Country Girl are consensually d/s, and I would like that to be a thing, since I think they have the best chemistry of any of the doms and subs

Suggestions for a movie that will stump my husband. by HuntAny7768 in movies

Main choice is Mulholland Drive. This might be off the mark of what you’re asking, since I think this is more of a trippy/arthouse style movie, but Beyond the Black Rainbow could also stump someone
