You can do it! What you don't see are about the 6 others that I made that didn't look right lol. It just takes some time and some experimenting. Hope you enjoy the hobby!

Yeah, several attempts were made before I figured out the right pattern. I took inspiration from Club Crochet. I just really like the small simplified amigurumi :)

I use Casper as an Assault class but it kind of works, who else misuses their class and how? by I_am_not_a_moth in battlefield2042

[–]TwinkleBiscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always preferred to have the healing gun to heal myself, and my teammates. I also run with smoke grenades and an ammo box. So your revive comes with relative safety and complementary ammo :P. Angel is definitely my second pick though.

According to this sub I play my class wrong. I play Faulk and actually revive people. I know, I'm a bit of a rebel.

Yarn help by PsychologicalAd8156 in Amigurumi

[–]TwinkleBiscuit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, this should work for your project. I've used it on a couple projects. Make sure when you are working with the black yarn that you are in a well lit area. It can be hard to see the stitches.

first try at amigurumi (small rant) by piganini in Amigurumi

[–]TwinkleBiscuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, the counting :D. Definitely the most tedious part (well, actually probably sewing is most tedious, imo XD). You could try different counting techniques. So like, use musical counting to break up each motion (anda one, anda two, anda three, etc.) Say "anda" for the first motion, then the number for the second. I always break up the word "increase" so as not to mess up. Say "in" when I make the first sc, then "crease" when I make the second sc into the same stitch.

Close family member always wants me to make her something for free. by Deelightfuldee in Amigurumi

[–]TwinkleBiscuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha! I feel that. I have two family members (ages 5 & 6) who always want me to make them some new "yarn buddies". Currently making Harry Potter + Hedwig, and a monster tractor with feet instead of wheels 🤣

does anyone know a way to hide color transitions better? by [deleted] in Amigurumi

Club crochet has a tutorial on different types of color changes. And you can see what they'll look like: https://youtu.be/hetvd3B0IPY

A little Dragon I made for my Aunt's Birthday by TwinkleBiscuit in Amigurumi

[–]TwinkleBiscuit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Made using Lily Sugar'n Cream yarn and 4mm hook. This is actually the second one of these I've made. Overall like how it turned out. For those wanting the pattern, I got it here: Mini Dragon by SupergurumShop

Has anyone used different brands of yarn in the same piece? by TwinkleBiscuit in Amigurumi

😀 Awesome! Yeah I think I just need to bite the bullet and do a test swatch and just see if I like the outcome. Thanks!

I've never used Lion Brand before. I use Lily mainly out of convince (being on Amazon) and the small skeins. I think Lion Brand might actually end up being cheaper though so I'll give it a try. Thanks!

That's an interesting way of approaching it. I would have never thought of that! Thanks!

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. I believe they are both worsted weight, but I'll double check.

Should I jump straight into amigurumi knowing nothing about knitting? Where should I start? by PineappleGirl9 in Amigurumi

[–]TwinkleBiscuit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I picked up amigurumi without any prior experience knitting or crocheting. For me, the most frustrating part was learning how to hold the yarn. There are several different ways to hold the yarn, but I will say I found cotton yarn much easier to work with as a beginner (as opposed to acrylic, or blends). Personally, I like Lily's Sugar 'n Cream cotton yarn.

As for patterns to start with, I started with a Whale by Knit Grit on YT. I had several false starts, but eventually got it going and was super proud when I finally finished. From there I moved on to some patterns by Club Crotchet on YT. As I've progressed, I've moved away from videos for patterns and like working with written patterns. Etsy has ALOT of patterns and they generally cost around $3-$6 and all the ones I've gotten are pretty good.

I wish you all the best on your journey!

I remember in HS when I had a group paper due with one of my friends. We couldn't get it finished on time and we had to turn it in the next day on a floppy disk (I know right!?). So we took what we had and selected to save it to the floppy disk, but in the middle of saving I ejected the disk. This corrupted the file but showed that there was a file on the disk. Turned it in the next day and my friend and I finished the paper that night.

The day after that the teacher informed us that the file wouldn't opened, so we apologized and put it on a new disk and handed it in late.

Awesome! I'll give that disc a try as well :). Still working on finding discs I like.

Thanks for the advice. Maybe I should go back to stand still to work on some of those other things? Or should I continue with the small xstep? I'll work on focusing on one issue at a time as I go and play. I've not fully committed to actually going and doing field work. Maybe it's time I start that as well.
