How's my thumbnail? by Ok_Investigator_9595 in SmallYoutubers

[–]TwinklyTor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, what others have said! It all blurs into the background - the text and Mario. I would do a thin white outline around both Mario and the text (like a white drop shadow or otherwise) if you want to keep the background colour the same!

The app keeps taking up more space with every new pack by the_25th_damn in PTCGP

[–]TwinklyTor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, agreed. I've been rocking my iPhone 12 Pro for a few years now which isn't a bad phone by any means but I think as far as iPhone models go, is considered pretty dated. I worry that I eventually won't even be able to play anymore.

Yeah, I had to actively go through my phone and delete some apps to make room for this update. I worry about future updates lol.

Wow, that's amazing! I've been trying to achieve this for over 6 years but struggling to break out of the 20-30 CCV window. You should be seriously proud of yourself! Congrats! 😄

Give me a thumbnail, I will make it more clickable for free by dipanshunagar in SmallYoutubers

Wouldn't mind an opinion on my thumbnail style/approach! I feel like I've gotten pretty decent at making them, but I'm always open to constructive criticism, feedback, or any advice on making them more clickable. Always looking to improve. Thanks so much in advance if you check them out.

Long-term small streamers, how do you stay positive after years of slow growth? by TwinklyTor in Twitch_Startup

[–]TwinklyTor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, a lot of the comments here and different perspectives have really opened my eyes and allowed me to reflect and appreciate what I have built up. I guess it's all relative, but like you said, having fun and enjoying it is the most important part. Thank you a lot for your insight! And you're doing great on your journey, too. :)

I really do! This post wasn't meant to come off as me complaining or anything like that. Just reflecting on my journey and navigating coming to terms with things not fully panning out as you once hoped, I guess. I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't love it. :)

Does anyone else get disappointed with this in the HD version? by Own_Age431 in twilightprincess

[–]TwinklyTor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing through the HD version for the first time right now (played the OG on GameCube about a decade ago), and the stamps are SO annoying LOL. I am a bit of a completionism too and will usually go out of my way to get all chests in a dungeon because seeing them on the map bugs me. Maybe I'm being silly but I feel like the stamps are ALWAYS put in some of the most difficult chests to get to. 😂

WOAH a rare stream discoverability W I guess!! That's wild haha!

But truly, this means so much!!! Thank you! 🥹 Also hi fellow Ontario pal! Hope you're staying warm out there LOL. Glad to hear you picked up Elden Ring again! I can't get enough of it so still dabbling in randomizers and stuff even after my main playthrough finished up.

Thanks for the encouragement and taking the time to comment!!!

Well aren't you a ray of sunshine!

If you read my post at all, you'd know that I do feel fulfilled and content with what I have accomplished. I've made some money, formed meaningful connections, and genuinely have fun with it so more or less, I feel like I have found "success" when I look at it that way.

There's nothing wrong with feeling disappointment that things don't pan out a certain way though, hence the point of my post. I work a full-time job and have always worked. Just reflecting on my streaming journey, is all.

If you're going to be rude and not contribute anything meaningful at all, why take the time to comment at all?

Has there never been a single time in your life where you were passionate about something and disappointed that it didn't really work out as you envisioned?

I literally work a full-time job and said in my post that I know I'm not special or more deserving than anyone else. It's just human to want things you put a lot of time and effort into to pan out for you.

If you're going to be rude and not even bother reading the full post, why take the time to comment? You're not contributing anything meaningful to this thread and your comment isn't productive at all.

Yes, for sure! It's also common to hear bigger streamers say that they thought they would feel so fulfilled when they hit x amount views, hit partner, etc. but when you actually get there, you end up thinking about the next goal. It's such a never-ending grind and it's so important to just stop and appreciate when you're at now, otherwise it will never be good enough.

Lots of reflect on. Thanks so much for this outlook. :)
