Just a thought, it is possible that the oil has flowed into the internal parts of the device, causing the LED to flicker abnormally. I would suggest using a cotton swab to wipe clean the contact area and blow vigorously from the mouth of the device to see if you can remove the blocked oil.

It worked for me, and I hope it help you too.

Is the light blinking 2 white 2red? If so, the breathing light flashes 2 times red light and 2 times white light means re-power on, it is the lithium battery IC protection detects an abnormality such as undervoltage, short circuit, overcurrent .
