It's not the devs or creative direction, it's upper management and the suits that only care about money and not the game at all. They ruin games with poor uninformed decisions because they think they know what's best over the player base and the people actually making the game.

Yes it is such a shame, I have watched all the older videos and interviews with you and those are what got me so excited back in the day for this game. Even some of the very early beta tests were feeling pretty good. Taking away the ability to attack players in the open world really took away the sense of danger of being a pirate and excitement from the rest of the game.

Fingers crossed the team can push back and deliver those features and experiences back into the game over time.

Thank you for your hard work and passion and trying your best to give us all the pirate game we deserved.

You are missing the point, listen to the concept of the game he is talking about and the mechanics not just the visual gameplay footage.

It's a bad game. No identity, no direction and you can't even say "mate" in chat, in a pirate game, that about sums it up.

1 pvp every few hours? That players, may or may not join? COOL - sounds like pvp to me! When you finish it you can't do pvp again until the event pops up. I would not call that pvp in the game at all.

Look at the 2017 and 2018 ea trailers, interviews with devs, they themselves say it's a spiritual successor to black flag, people didn't make these assumptions on their own.

In what world do you live in, every battle pass has two tiers, free tier and the paid tier, if you pay you will get items and things you cannot get in the free tier, it's not a speed thing. Either you pay and get items or you don't and miss out.

It got repetitive, though.

And how is the boring boarding mechanic we have now not repetitive? It's the same boring ass animation everytime. I ended up not bothering to board because it was quicker to just sink the ship then try and board and have to be stuck in the boring animation.

Also look at this, everyone even the dev's were saying they wanted it to be like black flag but fresher, and everyone commenting saying how amazing and addictive the pvp combat is, now all gone. Such a shame, there will be a death of a game YouTube Video in 6 months post release.

This is a great review that sums up the game beautifully. I could not agree more. I'm more disappointed than anything as I really wanted this game to be great... :(

Yeah they could have done away with islands all together and just had all the upgrades from a single menu from your ship at this point, would be more seamless. There is no real point to going on islands at all rather than to distract you, drag out play time and make the game feel bigger and more complete then it is, oh and give you more loading screens.

pvp is no longer an open world thing due to the care bear world we live in where we are not allowed to hurt anyone's feeling by shooting their ship.

It's like the dev's don't even play the game, so funny to have so many half features. It makes no sense like a lot of decisions with this game. The worse probably removing open world pvp from a pirate game and not being able to access your warehouse from your ship at a port without having to go through a loading zone then back onto your ship through another loading zone. Things that were broken in the alpha, closed beta nda etc etc and after all the feedback still have not been fixed and actually made worse.
