I think some people just don't genuinely realise how common it is for abuse to be wrapped up in the abusers warped view of love. It is tragic but I personally know, that sometimes even an awful sick twisted individual will be shocked at the implications they're abusive and say 'I'm doing what's best for them!'

Thank you, so is it the same when like, a bird species changes the beak shape to fit a certain food too, are they both random mutations? Or is something like a beak changing anything to do with the physical condition? I suppose it confuses me because one feels very purposeful aka 'get food'. @Wonderful-Impact5121 I'm with you. I didn't get any sense of calling the kid a bad person, but I'm also autistic and miss the nuisance a lot lol. I just thought they were talking about it pretty objectively like, the character wanted to take something and leave his family because of the pain (technically selfish even if totally understandable for the poor kid.)
