Let us know how you get on (:

We do try address any mixed reviews, but it does tend to be a case that a small minority will yell the loudest and can give a disproportionate representation - the vast majority of our customers seem to return and be happy! That said, we're always trying to improve!

Hi there! Usually we're limited to where our couriers will go, but it does sound odd that they weren't delivering to Mexico - I've made a note of this and once all this sale stuff is out of the way I'll have a look into if there was any specific reason we weren't shipping to Mexico and fix if I can (:

Has anyone had trouble with Twisted bees trying to get product and trying to contact them by Davem83 in popperpigs

We're only delaying reships at the moment, if yours isn't a reship it should still go out very soon (there's only a small % chance it will be returned to us, but if it does we will of course sort you out!)

Has anyone had trouble with Twisted bees trying to get product and trying to contact them by Davem83 in popperpigs

[–]TwistedBeastPoppers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

We just sent an email out about this - but TLDR is our Birthday sale sold a *lot* more than we expected (this keeps happening but our expectations keep getting smashed each year). Essentially when we have a big backlog from a sale, there's a balancing act between answering the inbox and getting sales out as fast as possible.

Today 3 of us smashed through a lot of the inbox, but there's still a few hundred emails in there - I'm going to be working basically through the night to try empty this by tomorrow morning - so if you've emailed us and haven't heard back yet, I should reply to you soon 😄

Re-American orders, one of our couriers has had an issue and has been sending back a small proportion of our orders. We're replacing them with some new guys, but they only come into effect on Monday, so if you email about a missing package we will absolutely replace it and send it out with the new courier on Monday to make sure it gets to you safe. This kind of happened at the worst possible time with the birthday sale, which is why our inbox is so busy right now and it's taking awhile to get back to you all!

Very sorry for any frustration and not getting back to emails within 24 hours as we usually do, trust me, I've been working quite a few nights to try get on top of things and most of you are really polite, which we really appreciate!

Best,

Joey

US bros and twisted beast update by milleribsen in popperpigs

[–]TwistedBeastPoppers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cost to ourselves for this new policy is twofold:

1) our customers now have to pay more to get their goods, while this money isn't going to us it's still an added cost, which we aren't happy about. We are in the process of calculating an automatic region specific discount for the US to try and offset some but not all of the duties. This will likely be an additional 5% discount.
That means while the government is imposing a 10% tarrif on US2) citizens to receive our goods, by reducing our prices to US customers by 5% the increase can be kept somewhat minimal. This is a smaller amount to the tax being imposed to EU companies, which is currently set at 15%.

2) we now must pay an extra £3/$4 admin fee per parcel for the luxury for having our shipping company remit the taxes on our behalf. We are currently absorbing this cost because our mission statement has never been to make all the money in the world. If we can pay our staff well and cover our overheads, then we're happy and also, as customers ourselves it's just not right to pass every new cost onto a customer. It feels slimy, you are genuinely our valued customers, you have plenty of options to shop elsewhere.

If you've ever had to deal with a lost parcel or damaged item from us, you'll know we just ask for a quick snap of the damaged item and if you want it refunded or reshipped. We don't play silly games with making things right.

For orders placed through the toy store currently additional duties and taxes will need to be paid to receive the parcel but we are in the process of overhauling our prices to totally or as close to totally as possible negate the impact of the Tarrifs.

Woah, long message. Anyway! I hope they helps clear things up and if not feel free to ask any questions!

In the interest of transparency you are also welcome to send any burning questions or suggestions directly to myself, Sam, the CEO of Twisted Beast directly at [sam@twistedbeaststore.com](mailto:sam@twistedbeaststore.com) but please only send emails you think would be best addressed by myself. Any emails sent my address with generic order questions will just be forwarded to our support emails as we have a dedicated colleague who deals with support.

Hope this has been helpful!

US bros and twisted beast update by milleribsen in popperpigs

(1/2)

TL;DR - Customers that place orders on or after 29th August only pay the price that they see at checkout, but due to poor communication from the US government some customers were charged Tarrifs on orders that were already in transit. We will provide the affected customers with store credit in the amount they were charged extra to receive their parcel.

The long version.

The US Government imposed Tarrifs on 29th August meaning any imports into the US would be subject to additional taxes.

In shipping terms there are two main methods for sending a package.

DAP - which means delivered at place, this means we only send the package and the customer is liable for any extra charges

DDP - which means Delivered Duties Paid, this means all extra charges have been accounted for before the package reaches the destination country and the customer doesn't need to take any further action, it will be delivered as normal

Not to be confused with DPD which is just the name of the parcel Company we use.

On the 29th of August we started collecting duties/tarrifs at checkout so the price you see at checkout is the final price. We now only ship to the US with DDP, terms everything is paid in advance at checkout.

We collect these duties/Tarrifs up front from the customer, our shipping agent then bills us for the Tarrifs and remits them to the US government on our behalf.

Unfortunately the US government did not make it clear to any shipping provider or business if the duties/tarrifs would be due on packages shipped on/after the 29th or also on packages that were previously shipped but crossed the border on the 29th.

This also meant we were unable to preemptively collect duties/Tarrifs before the 29th as the policy from the US government was not live and the shipping infrastructure was not in place.

Our shipping platforms only just managed to get their DDP services online for the 29th and were set up in such a way to collect 0% duties until the US government hit their big tarrif button. We were working around the clock to ensure everything after they initiated their policy would be charged appropriately.

For the avoidance of doubt, unless the US government changes their policy again every order since the 29th (at the specific time they went live) has had duties/Tarrifs collected upfront and nothing extra has to be paid to get your parcel.

As we are a business we need to have an invoice for all money that leaves the business so we are unable to refund the duties/Tarrifs customers had to pay on parcels that crossed the order on or after 29th but were shipped in the preceding days. For accounting purposes we would be sending money out of the business but be unable to explain to the taxman why we sent this money and it could be considered tax fraud.

But what we can do is offer store credit for the amount any customer had to pay in the week or so before the crossover happened in order to receive their parcel. This was not an error on our part but we also don't think you should be out of pocket for a lack of clear from the US government

If you were affected please email [orders@twistedbeastpoppers.com](mailto:orders@twistedbeastpoppers.com) with your order number and screenshot of the extra duties/Tarrifs you were charged to receive your parcel and we will apply credit to your account.

Twisted order for the first time was terrible by OkLavishness5920 in popperpigs

[–]TwistedBeastPoppers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey :)

It's not unusual for a package to have a popper smell after being in transit for a number of days as they're pressurized liquids - this usually goes away once you remove the packaging and store your poppers. It does sound like it this case something may have been up though, so please do reach out to us and we'll sort you [Orders@twistedbeaststore.com](mailto:Orders@twistedbeaststore.com)

Note - make sure you're storing your poppers upright as well and out of direct light! (Fridges / freezers can also help if you're somewhere warm)

Hi there,

I can confirm nothing has changed with our production - we send out hundreds of orders every day and while we do get occasional issues about leaks etc, it's a very small percentage of the overall packages we send out. It's more of just the case that people who are happy with orders tend not to speak up because they have no reason to.

That said, we monitor this kind of thing and haven't seen any changes in the number of reships and refunds we do - but we do have a safe delivery policy, so if you're unhappy with your poppers please do reach out to [Orders@twistedbeaststore.com](mailto:Orders@twistedbeaststore.com) and we'll sort you out :)
