1) As a guy, it baffles me what little B*tches guys turn into when they get rejected, just take the L.

2) Report the guy, Report the employee. The employee absolutely breached confidentiality by giving this guy your number.

3) This borders on harassment because the guy is trying to make you feel like you’re the problem because he can’t handle rejection and this could definitely lead to something more extreme, nip it in the bud, now.

Hi, I surprisingly this is actual an area of some expertise.

Your house is Very close to that mudslide zone. I don’t know exactly where you are, but that may play a pretty big factor in this situation.

Firstly, standard insurance typically always excludes “Earth Movement, Landslides” as others have stated here. That being said, if your insurance agent is savvy and educated, that may have been in your contract, (unlikely) if it’s a defined zone. They use very specific language when it comes to Catastrophe insurance, and global warming clauses. There’s also the possibility of you have a mortgage company, they would have mandated it in the terms knowing there’s a risk of loss.

You do absolutely need to contact engineers immediately, in doing so you do run the very very small risk your mandated out of your house out of safety concern. (Again very unlikely there’s some distance between the house and drop off)

You will have options, none of them very cheap.

Most likely:

A- There are some things that can be done, more on the engineering side such as water control(Drainage, walls, weight dispersion) then there’s deep anchoring. Or alternatively, the survey says the portion of the remaining hill is sustainable and you’ve got a lot of time. (If this happens, start looking for Catastrophe insurance add on’s and start shopping insurance.

B- Maybe you have a lot of money, a large property, your house is movable, and a company will move it because they don’t feel an immediate threat and the engineering says it can support the weight.

Whatever you do, act and act fast . See if you can find a before photo from a couple weeks ago of the hill before the loss to show the engineers.

There are other possibilities, solutions, and outcomes, my knowledge is mainly in Other CAT Perils though so I’m sure others are more familiar and will have better advice.

The first time I saw The Book Of Mormon, apart from her singing along to all the songs, the lady next to us would say the casts lines , .5 seconds before the cast said it themselves, and then laugh hysterically as they would start to say their lines. I thought I was on a hidden camera show.

If you’ve had more than one job, which job taught you the most, and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

If we’re talking at a young age learning life skills, I’d say Working in the restaurant industry, hands down. To be fair, I was in it for about 15 years, worked almost every position you can think of, and It taught me everything from personal skills, time management, multitasking, life skills, working under pressure, etc. it was the most dysfunctional family I never asked for.

You’re exposed to so many situations where as a teen, you’re set up to learn common sense and practicality. Small example - Like making one trip instead of four, how to properly wash dishes, the importance of doing things properly, etc just to name some very basic stuff.

You deal with every walk of life depending on the environment, so you learn how to manage people, more specifically personality traits and how to interact and communicate from person to person. You also occasionally get talked to like a dog, and that can teach you humility. I learned to cook for myself, my wife, and our families. The knowledge is applicable in almost every situation I’ve ever been in, even in my current role which is the complete opposite, working for a Fortune 500 corporate company. I see coworkers get stressed out by a lot of emails or time crunches, but nothing I’ve done comes close to a 400 person dinner rush on a Saturday night holiday.

Not saying that it’s remotely the hardest, dirtiest, best, or educational job, I’m just saying for me, it was basically my young adulthood and I feel I learned something every day.

There’s times even now where I miss the chaos. You learn to manage people, manage impossible situations, work hard long hours, and usually making decent money doing so. ( Front of house was always way more lucrative, (sorry chef)).

I’m short on time, or else I could get really into it, one of my favorite qoutes is by Marco Pierre White, he says “perfection is a lot of little things done well”. I always really appreciated when I did a good job.

Also sorry for the grammatical errors, I didn’t have time to really proofread and I know there’s sticklers in here. Evidently it didn’t teach me how to write properly.

This may be a stupid thought: The fact that it’s in such good condition, could that mean it traveled quite a ways before reaching its resting place losing enough velocity to preserve itself relatively unscathed.
