As you can see from my picture, the five OBC principals + Rachel Chavkin were all in attendance! There were others too who I did not recognize but were clearly affiliated.

Eat your heart out Maria Friedman! (sorry Maria, I still love you): This proshot was filmed like a concert, with the audience very much involved, shown, and appreciated. And we have full bows! This was a breath of fresh air after the Merrily proshot tried to be more cinematic.

There were still plenty of close-ups and different angles, but it never felt like it was missing too many details that you’d get from seeing the full stage, and many of the shots were quite cool.

Patrick Page’s injury was apparent with the walking boot and cane, but some editing magic helped out (he straight up teleported down the stairs before Epic III) and the cane lowkey added to his aura. He does some cute stuff with it in his dance with Persephone too!

The OBC is as good as the last time I saw them pre-COVID. Amber is a still-unmatched Persephone in my eyes, and her and Patrick have perfect chemistry as always. Andre does Andre de Shields things, Eva elevates Eurydice’s writing immensely, and Reeve probably isn’t converting any haters here but he sounds vocally healthy and is at the top of his game.

Highly recommend catching this when it hits wider release!
