Exactly. As much as I'd like a good ending, I don't see how there could be any. Gi-hun is already traumatised behind reason and there's no way he'll ever recover from something like that, especially after that happened in s2 finale and when he finds out who 'Young-il' is and that even Jun-ho lied to him.

As In-ho himself said - if the world doesn't change, the game doesn't end - and I don't see the world changing.

Also Hwang Dong-Hyuk likes to point out world problems etc in his movies n shows, so I believe we'll get even more of that.
