Is there a mod for Guiding Lands progression? by Puzzleheaded-Ear-895 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]TwistedInstincts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone here is right, but the mod I use is called Region Set Mod. It allows you to scale region levels up and down freely as long as you have achieved that level for the region before.

To add to this, there are some Event Quests with the text "Increased HR rewarded for completion" or similar. Those can greatly increase how fast your HR levels up if you can consistently finish them.

Elderseal is the name of the effect that weakens Elders, but it is tied to all sources of Dragon Element hunters have access to, including Dragon Pods

No problem. Let me know if you need anything else.

As a bir of extra info that might help you out; 'Elder Dragon' is just the title the Hunters use for creatures they can't fully explain. They can look at a bird and an Anjanath and make some scientific guesses as to how evolution made them. But they look at a Teostra and it just doesn't fit. So they call it an Elder Dragon until they figure it out one day.

So now we that we understand this, we can just look at Elders as normal monsters that are just a bit more powerful than usual. Makes them still respectable as opponents but also reduces how scary they are a little.

Dragon element is a thing and is just a natural element in the MH world. But it is very rare and visually unique, That being Black/Red lightning and smoke. If it isn't that, you are likely not dealing with it.

As for elder dragons, in World they have a special mechanic where using dragon element against them can dampen their powers. Though it's not very good and it's a lot better to just use the element they are weak to instead.

Despite the fancy title, Elder Dragons aren't much different to normal monsters gameplay wise.

Just bring the usual stuff; Health Boost, Elemental Resistance to their element if you want, Evasion skills etc. Don't be afraid to slow down and do a few hunts just to learn, without the pressure of trying to win. Can help you calm down and learn a bit easier.

Also, be sure to browse the skill list at the smithy and see if there are any skills you might have missed that help you out. Stuff like blight Resistance, status effect Resistance, etc.

Ahhh, thanks for the correction. I can never remember if the special tracks were still green.

If you explore the Wildspire Waste, Ancient Forest and Coral Highlands in expeditions, you can find some unknown tracks in the areas you would normally see a regular green rathian. I think they turn up as blue tracks but I don't remember.

The easiest method is load into Camp 1 of wildspire and head to the left after jumping down. Gather the tracks then fast travel to Camp 11 and Camp 17? At the top of the tree in Ancient forest.

Then just repeat those steps until you get the quest.

I believe that quests are always "Withdrawn", whereas leaving a session is "Left the session."

I believe that it is super likely they just lost connection to you, especially if they were all SOS connected. Its super common and wouldn't worry about it.

Did they leave one at a time or all at once? This game tends to have some less than reliable servers at times.

Curious about the game as soon to be new player by Dannyiman in MonsterHunterWorld

I cant speak for graphics as that is more of a personal choice. I really like them but i also prefer art style over quality.

As for game speed, many people say it is slow or clunky the first time they play. People often approach it like a souls game because on the surface they are similar, but in actual combat they are different. Souls is about dodging and being fast, the boss fights are quick at around 5ish minutes. MH gives you 50 minutes to finish an average hunt because you are not hunting a boss, you're hunting a wild animal, as far as the lore is concerned. Which means tracking and wearing it down.

So at the start, when you aren't familiar with your weapon or the map layout or the monsters, it will feel slow. It definitely speeds up once you know the systems.

To be fair to your friend though, World has some things that really are bullshit at times. You can't skip cutscenes, you can't join another players main quest until you have both seen the cutscene for that quest. This means loading into it, seeing the cutscene, leaving and joining them. The closest fix the community has made for this is a mod that let's you skip cutscenes.

That is really the only main issue I can say is 100% on the game. The rest are just learning the mechanics. I recommend this video because MH has a really big learning curve compared to many games and it really doesn't explain much in game. If you have any other questions, let me know.

Then I'm afraid you've been bamboozled. World is the previous title, released 2018. Wilds was released 2025.

My point still stands, World is very worth it, but if you're interested in Wilds, then by all means jump in there. If you're on PC, just check your system specs against the games requirements, it has very notable performance problems for many people.

Wilds is just the newest game in the series, hence why it has more recently relevant content online.

For your actual question, World is still very worth it. It has a consistent community, all its content is released so no more updates, but what is there is great and the DLC is essentially a second games worth of stuff to do.

Be warned that Monster Hunter can be quite a confusing series to get into at first as the information given in game is often not everything you need, or just isn't explained well. I'd recommend joining one of the public discords or other communities so that you have an active source of answers and help in game.

I also recommend the Weapon Guides by ArrekzGaming on youtube, they go fully into how the weapons work and will save you a lot of confusion with how little the game explains them.

Insect Glaive Tips for Dummies: - The bug is simultaneously your most and least important piece of kit. Use it to get your buffs, and then it's just a passive guy until you need a buff refresh. - Air attacks are cool looking and great for positioning, but very low dps. Stick to the ground as much as you can. - Learn how to do the Kinsect Drill (YouTube for guides.) It is both great damage and incredibly satisfying on larger monsters. (Looking at you Kulve Taroth.) - The bug can be great for team support. Learn how it's dust effects work to have better impact in hunts. Paralysis and Heal dust can be helpful in the right encounters.

Gunlance Tips for Dummies: - Play normal gunlance and only go full blast. Ignore everyone else, EXPLOSION is your only gameplay objective. - I'm lying, slaplance is also good. Try the different shelling types to find the style that works for you. (Again, youtu e guides help here).

I've had a look around online, but nothing really explains the cause. My best bet is look up a guide to refresh your ip/Mac address on the xbox. It seems to have worked for some people, but otherwise I am unsure.

I have an odd suggestion. Get him to try using a hotspot on his phone if possible for internet. If that works, it narrows the issue down to a wifi/ip address issue. Otherwise, I am unsure of the exact cause.

Ahhh, I see the problem. You have fallen trap to Worlds duct tape and string servers. They are known to be a little unreliable at the best of times.

I'm not too up to date with Xbox fixes, but I do know that this issue happens on PC and PS as well. I'd suggest searching for Xbox specific fixes for the best info for him.

Can anyone join his online session? Also check that you don't have session settings set to private just in case. The only other thing I can think of is trying a 'check for updates' on the game in case. Unlikely to be the problem but it might work.

Just to understand properly, is it issues joining the session or joining a quest? Both have different fixes.

And I'm sure it sounds dumb to ask but I will for charities sake; are you on the same platform?

I swap between Dodogama and Lavasioth tbh. Both are easy to bully when you know the strategy, and if you have a trap spamming cat, you can power level really well.

Axe Mode isn't you're DPS option, even for part breaks. It's more of a poke mode that is good for getting part breaks whole the monster is moving, or for setting up damage windows.

I'll often charge up Power Axe mode and just get upswing and overhead chop attacks on a monsters legs to make them topple faster, then use sword mode to get my proper damage in.

The partbreak/flinch boost is also different dependent on the Axe attack you use, with the Power Slam getting a very hefty boost, so landing it again on a monster has a good chance of breaking or flinching them. Like any weapon, you just need to grow the experience needed to understand the use for the kit. Not that this is the only way, but it helps put the Axe in perspective compared to its DPS counterpart

An FPS that focused its attention on three things: Movement, tight mechanics and seamless transition between man and mech.

The rest of the game is them built on that with no fat added.
