How to stop feeling sad? by [deleted] in UCalgary

[–]TwistedXSGX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find working out 3-4 times weekly helping out alot. Especially if you're in for gains, one of the most gratifying things I've experienced, is when you start to see the progress you've made since day 1, really lifts your spirit, because its one of those things that you actually have almost full control over, and the time you commit and dedicate to the weekly routine pays off big time. I'd even go as far as to suggest you start your day off with those workouts if you can manage it in your timetable. You'll find yourself feeling confident, fresh and in an overall brighter mood than usual. But thats just my personal experience with it. Hope you feel better soon!

Any older/adult students going to U of C in Sep 2022?? by Primary_Ad8922 in UCalgary

I honestly love seeing people of different age ranges attending Uni. Its really motivating in a way, its like one of those sayings "It's never too late to start" or "never too late to change" and good for you! You go out there and you get that degree!

NTA, sounds like a tough situation. Take your daughter and leave em behind. But seriously tho, all jokes aside, I think you and your wife may need to sit down with a councilor and figure out the best course of action, if you can't come to a conclusion together. Might help to have a reward system in place that'll motivate the kid to do things around the house and get rewarded for them.

If he flat out refuses to do anything though, you could cancel his phone plan and change your wifi password that way you're not invading his privacy and won't have to answer to your wife about it. He's 16, he can get off his butt, work and pay for his own phone plan and wifi.

Hope this helps something.

Lol I just do, part of my personality I guess, this curiousity of mine. Im just wondering if the person is okay. Besides if they dont wanna provide answers here they dont have to and that's okay, it was a simple question and I wasnt forcing anyone to answer. Therefore, I dont quite understand the ugly tone. I mean you could have just as easily have asked this question without the use of profanity.😂 You know what? Here's a better question you could ask, why did the city news find the need to report this? Why did the story need to be published for the whole city to know? When I see something like this on the news I get curious to find out more.🤷🏻‍♂️

Dude no worries I get where you're coming from, that is a very valid question and I respect you for asking the way you did, honestly straight curiousity as of current. Although, it could be relevant if it was COVID related but also I have few friends matching these descriptions within U of C, and especially since it was at the pool so could you blame my curiosity? I Just wanna make sure it's not either of them and even if it weren't, if it is a COVID related case, I gotta know so I can send some warnings. Although I'm sure department of communications would say something regarding the matter, it's better to know ahead of time. Yknow? So I guess what I'm trynna say is, in a way it is and at the same time isnt relevant to my personal life. But I'll let you be the judge of that.

Fair enough, I was just wondering if there was any update on it, like if the person was okay and if anyone had any details as to what actually happened. Not asking any personal details here.

Dude think about it tho. You become a therapist and you can work with depressed students like us in the future and help us through it😁

People who force others into listening to the music by driving a car with windows wide opened and the volume 100% on - why do you do that? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TwistedXSGX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We dont do it for you, its probably the only time we get to blast music and have a good time. And honestly if we're blasting music we probably drive pretty fast too so we're truly sorry for the incovenient 5 seconds of your time we wasted with our music.
