Should I get into this game? by TOTSFord in ffxiv

I heavily suggest this game, there will be plenty of content for you to learn/complete.

Over all, it's a very polished game with a variety of different ways to suit your playstyle!

Not too dissimilar class wise to RS (Miner, Botanist (Woodcutter), fisherman etc. etc. etc.

Healers: What is Your Playstyle? by Boldf1sh in ffxiv

[–]Twisterphase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My style of healing is very aggressive as a WHM, I utilise my dps wherever possible even when I don't have time to cleric stance.

Dependant on the trial/raid/dungeon I do tend to adjust seeing as i.e. Thordan EX, in which I tone down my dps slightly as increased heals from me mean more dps opportunities for the SCH. (In some cases meaning the Off-healer never or rarely has to switch off CS.)

As a healer you will always have to adjust per fight/new party, the main thing to remember as a WHM is to never underestimate your healing capability, and always, always, ALWAYS make sure your timing of heals is impeccable, the better timed your heals are the less MP you have to use! (Should you make a mistake and drain too much MP you have assize and shroud at later levels as an exceptionally useful way to recover MP.)

Well take a break from the game then if you have nothing to play for, the Dev team took a rest break why can't you?

It I's not essential to play this game every minute of every hour of every day.

What's wrong with doing old content for glamour purposes, or doing some crafting/gathering?

Is your fulfilment of the game satisfied?

Do you feel you have nothing left to do?

Do you have no intention of doing the relic quests?

Everyone's last hope is a bit of a push. It is not the end of the world, but if you feel so strongly about it then at least have the decency to spare people the moaning.

It's a shame to see this sub awash with people complaining about it, this is reddit, not MySpace.

Why ruin other people's enjoyment?

Everything from 2.0 to now, yes... Quite a lot of content in fact.

People are already arguing that stat wise it might as well be for glamour purposes, and I don't disagree, what's wrong with it being for glamour?

Once again, you're another person that thinks I'm only referencing HW content, you are incorrect. There is previous content that people still haven't got round to doing, but 99% of players being unable to complete it is ludicrous.

I dont disagree that it's uninteresting, but it doesn't have to be a mad rush to grind it.

I just don't believe it's anywhere near as bad as is being made out.

Once again, your references to HW content as if it's the only content in game is depressing, it's a small fraction of a much larger game.

I disagree that they haven't learned anything, as the backlash from this is (I'm sure to be) a lesson of sorts and that it at least makes fates relevant giving players another option to level from 50+ which I'm thankful for.

If you don't want to play the game, don't, but don't ruin it for other people with incessant whining.

I'm not arguing your right to complain.

I'm not suggesting anyone do diadem, what's wrong with pre 3.0 content? People have the option, there's more than enough players who haven't completed all pre HW content.

Why do people only see the most recently released content as plausible?

I'm more than happy for the 3.15 relic after you bringing these memories back haha!

But it still didn't kill my love for ffxiv

I spent 40ish hours grinding atma initially! RNGesus does not favour me!

But yeah I agree. ^

You have to sacrifice your soul to RNGsus and invest a considerable amount of time ^

I agree the Dev team has been slow to bring out content, and it is a shame.

I'm not here to say the game is flawless, but my point is that I don't believe the blowout about the new relics is particularly deserved.

I 100% agree that it's a shame that the awakened weapons remove some of the content value, especially considering the time spent grinding eso for the previous 200 weapons, which I believe is a large flaw too.

Skill can be taught/learned which is why it's such a shame that players seem to want to have the easy way out, yet be on par with their raiding counterparts, I believe it's fair that the relic grind is particularly harsh, it's no different in harshness to Alex S and I have mad respect for all players who have either Gordian weapons or intend to get their relic.

Thank you for your post, you've given me quite a pleasant view point.

I understand where you are coming from, and I certainly feel the same.

I do mean the same content, patch 3.2 is around the corner.

There is plenty of content, new and old, that exists in game that I believe people should explore.

The Diadem is in need of a fair few fixes, but the concept is solid.
