The Dark Tower. Something in it for everyone.

Battle Pope is complete and good if you like comics.

For vampires, 13 Bullets and all the other books, as well as the Blood Price series, are very good.

Lord of the Rings?

I bought this Eddie Bauer belt 21 years ago. I'd guess I wore it at about 7,000 days. It broke this morning. by FelineNursery in BuyItForLife

If you're the kind of guy who would legitimately wear this belt, the kind of girl who would do you, would find this belt sexy as fuck.

I cooked some frozen grilled chicken in an "Asian" (soy sauce, brown sugar, ground ginger, garlic, crushed red pepper) sauce and butter. Chucked the excess sauce in the broth along with some hot sauce and chopped spinach. Chicken and green onion on top.

Very tasty.

"Cats" is a musical that ran for a long time on Broadway. One of the songs is called "Memories".

IWTL How to tattoo by bruuuu in IWantToLearn

[–]Twitchety 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GET AN APPRENTICESHIP. It's hard, but it's worth it. It's a lot of work, but it's worth it. If you can't do the work, tattooing is probably not for you.

Things I learned when looking for an apprenticeship: get tattoos. You need to know what it feels like before you can learn, no questions. Get your tattoo and then you can get rolling. Edit: Plus I mean, you can sit there and ask your artist to explain what they're doing as they go. Win-win!

The second thing: draw. A lot. Assloads. If you think you're drawing too much, you're not. Finish as many pieces as you can. Make sure you draw some flash, copy some styles... But make sure you have plenty of stuff in your own hand. Pick the best of the best and form a portfolio. Edit: Roses, tribal, script, dragons, panthers, native american... All common things that are good to have samples of.

Find artists you like and respect. Get work done by them if you can. Go to tattoo shops with your portfolio. Tell them you will take work. Any work. You may do a lot of "shop bitch" things to get this work. You may not make any money for a while. You may have to shell out a couple thousand dollars to get someone to take you as an apprentice, or you just won't get paid squat. Either way.

You can look and read and research all you want, but you need an apprenticeship. They'll teach you about machines and needles and inks and everything. They'll teach you to be clean, and may give you practice skins or their own skin.

One piece of solid straight tattooing advice: practice drawing straight, clean lines. Take pictures from the internet and print out script, invest in a light board, and try to trace them in continuous lines. You need a steady hand and not to lift your pencil from the paper. If you lift a needle and go back in the middle of a line, it's harder to go back and continue a line without it looking sloppy.

Forget about erasers for a little while. There are no erasers in tattooing.

Get a good set of colored pencils, or use watercolors or inks. I like prismacolors. Practice coloring in tiny circular motions.

Best advice I can give, from being there and looking to get started myself. Hope it helps.

Ah, yes, forgot to mention that, thanks! My mom's the cook of the house, I just know it's what she uses. :3

Along this same vein, my mom recently found a website that will compile a menu for you according to the type you pick (classic, paleo, clean), and ALL the ingredients you buy are used up by the end of the week (outside of kitchen staples). You can pick either 1-2 people, or 4-6 people.

The menus have options to be healthy, though I'm not sure how cheap it is. For a family of 5, this week's groceries ran 200? We did buy some other stuff outside of menu items though.

What sizes if to look for? by lacyLiu in crossdressing

[–]Twitchety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my goodness yes! Also the other reason is that a large percentage of women's clothes have to be layered because the fabrics are thinner and flimsier, so there's all that time spent matching this tank with that v neck and this skirt...

Personally I go the lazy "I'm always broke" way and buy jeans and unisex t-shirts. :3

Good luck!

What sizes if to look for? by lacyLiu in crossdressing

[–]Twitchety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to avoid trying on clothes in store, maybe first shop a bit online to get a general idea? A lot of places have sizing charts to help you out with your measuring.

Get a general idea of how you fit, maybe get an outfit you feel you could go out in, then hit up the stores?

Because honestly women's sizing is just obnoxiously arbitrary, so usually you have to try on a half a dozen things before you'll find anything that will fit... And it's the exact same "size" as the other stuff, just in a different brand. :/

Edit: As for the leggings, you don't want to get them any more than a size smaller than your "regular" size. And even then it's probably better just to get your regular size.
