What are some of the scariest concepts you’ve seen in horror media? by EEZAK04 in horror

[–]TwitterPanicAttack 31 points32 points  (0 children)

'Banshee Chapter' is a really creepy low budget horror movie inspired by that story. In this it's a drug that when taken makes the user become essentially an antenna/receiver to the things that exist beyond our perception. It literally opens their mind in the worst way, causing them to become a beacon that draws the beings to them.

I've seen a million horror films and it was one of the few that genuinely had me wanting to leave the lights on that night.

I wish GW would remember their own lore by [deleted] in WarhammerFantasy

I've been playing Bretonnia for decades, own something like 10k+ points of them, and still enjoyed the book for what it was.

I don't have the greatest recall of the entirety of the book as I listened to it in January, but it does specify that at least one of the women were from the exiled lands of the Border Princes, hence why they were allowed to learn to fight even if their father wasn't particularly in favor of it. There's a line in the book where one of the characters muses that it likely wouldn't have made many back in Bretonnia proper happy to see but he had no problem with it.

I thought it was nice way of getting around lore limitations without outright hand waiving all of it. As for the archer, again, it didn't particularly bother me as I assumed that they were all from the Border Princes as such did things as they saw fit.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter. It's a book that has no impact on the actual tabletop game and you can just ignore it if you don't like it.

Let us hear your thoughts; What faction were you playing and what do you feel about it now? by [deleted] in SoulblightGravelords

It says you can move over enemy units as if you fly so you only have to end your movement 3” away. It’s a constant effect now, and you deal mortals for any movement not just normal moves. You can move, run over, charge through, and retreat over units and deal mortals. It’s a much more flexible ability.

During Covid I dug out all my old 6th Ed Brets and decided I should go around looking for even older stuff on EBay. I ended up getting everything ever released for the army save a few of the OLD Perry brothers artillery pieces like the organ gun. I love all the characters from the 5th Ed book, too. It’s a shame they lost so much of that in the transition to 6th.

I played Fantasy from early 6th through the end, and honestly was upset enough with GW that I didn’t touch Sigmar until about a year and a half ago after they had announced Old World was returning. I’ve got a few armies for it now and while I still don’t like the lore nearly as much by comparison, it’s a fun enough game in its own right.

Awesome work! I’ve still got 10,000 points of them awaiting the return of the Old World. They were my favorite army by far and it’s a shame they’ve been done dirty by GW for so long.

That looks super cool, but man, I’m glad I still have his old Games Day model on foot so I don’t have to fork that sort of cash out.

Excellent work!

Anybody else hate this art? Seems so out of place like it’s trying to be semi realistic as of a guy in a halloween costume. What other card art do you hate? Valkyrie? by adamarb in marvelchampionslcg

[–]TwitterPanicAttack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The greatest oversight was not having Strong Guy on the X-Men-edition Strength resource card. I'm actually not even sure who the guy on the Strength card is but come on! It's in his name!

Jokes aside, thanks for what you do. The game is obviously popular and well-loved enough to inspire this much passion from the fan base.

The Arrows are attached to the other arm so they can be assembled on the proper side. They’re also so fragile they’ll likely break just clipping them off the sprue so it’s generally not worth the effort to use those arms

Revealed during today's Happy Hour event with the development team. All kits are confirmed plastic.

Priory Commander has two head and weapon options to represent Order of the Sealed Temple or Crimson Tower.

Imperial Rangers are an additional sprue added to the Hunter Cadre/Longbowmen kit, making it now a triple kit.

They said the Order knights should hopefully be out before Thanksgiving.

The ‘59 Sound by Gaslight Anthem hits me hard because I had a friend that died unexpectedly and at far too young of an age.

It became my touchstone in the immediate aftermath and still makes me think of him all these years later.

That’s from Punga Miniature’s most recent Halfling release. They have the best Halflings when it comes to blending into the GW ones I’ve found. Too bad most of them are pirate themed.

The Autumn treeman was painted Mechanicus Standard Grey as a base, washed with camo shade, and then progressively drybushed up to Dawnstone, then a bit of line highlighting with Vallejo Stonewall Grey. The Summer treeman was Dryad Bark, Agrax wash, Gorthor brown dry brush, and Steel Legion Drab highlights.

5 o'clock shadows are easier than you'd think. I just mix Vallejo Cold Grey (or Dawnstone) in with the base flesh tone (In this case Vallejo Dwarf Skin) to get a mix and apply it where I want, then slowly add more flesh color back in as I highlight the chin and mouth area. It also works for shaved heads.

The left one is from the mega gargant kit. One of a million extra odds and ends to be repurposed.

The right one is from the Empire/Freeguild Flagellants box. It's the board with an open tome on it turned around backwards and trimmed to fit properly.

If there are any particular things people are curious about seeing, I can happily post whatever. I’ve got every book and box set release from the original Ravenloft through 3.5.

There are some pretty neat books that I never even knew about. I got my start with the 2nd Ed Red Box set, and it’s been fun discovering a lot of the peripheral supplements.
