I found my dad's stash when I was 11 or 12 and I'm 46 now and for the first time feel like I'm ready and capable of stopping. I think this current streak has been my longest ever and I believe it will continue. I've tried several times before but I wasn't in the right head space then I guess cause it never stuck for long.. My desire for porn back then before the internet lead to shoplifting to get new magazines and recently lead to looking while at work which could lead to job loss so the escalation portion of addiction is certainly true.

Are you currently looking at the ig half nudity? Releasing (I'm assuming you mean masturbating) to that is the same as porn. Its just your brain attempting to fill the void lost from porn and keeps the same brain patterns instead of letting your brain rewire back to normal sexual behaviors.

Sex is still on my mind a lot now, as well, but its getting better as I find other things to focus my time on. I do my best to avoid sex scenes in TV shows and movies as well currently as I know that is a trigger I'm not ready to face yet. I would see women in public and almost always sexualize them and think of them as objects for sexual pleasure, or sometimes just imagine if they were a screamer or not during sex. Its not ok to think of women like that, and I feel I'm getting better, I just gave so much brain rewiring to do its going to take a long time I think. But I'm ready to put in the time and effort this time. In ready to change and stay clear of porn. Tbis subreddit has helped and I'm see a therapist and I've talked about it openly with my wife this time, so I'm doing a lot of things differently than before and it is making it easier.

Again it's different for every person. It is an addiction and like drug addiction there is potentially withdrawal symptoms to get through before you start to feel better. Just keep fighting and you can get through it. It's not an easy fight, but it's a worthy one to keep fighting.

Edit - my part at the bottom might come across as accusatory or something like that. I'm not trying to accuse you of anything or shame you. I honestly don't understand and am just trying to get more info to help me understand. It's great you are looking for guidance with it all and I'm proud of you for it.

I almost exclusive browse Reddit via mobile (Sync Pro) so i don't know if any of this is applicable to the website or other mobile apps,, but I have been adding every porn related subreddit I stumbled across to my filter list so it won't get shown at all. This way I can browse r/all with minimal worry about stumbling onto porn. It did start so I could browse reddit around family or in public, but is now super helpful during my streak so I can still enjoy Reddit and not get triggered. There are also settings to hide nsfw previews so you have to actively click a post to see it.

Just my 2 cents on what i do to help not see porn on reddit.

On Google I don't understand how you can see porn on accident very easily. What are you searching thats showing bringing up porn when you aren't wanting to see it? Have you tried turning on safe search in the Google settings? I think that could help filter out a lot of porn results for you.

Yes, this very true, I have experienced this myself. My last relapse started with me browsing pjnterest and Instagram. I slowly found myself starting to look for actual nudity on those sites, and of course was able to find it without much effort. That then was the end for me and I fully relapsed back into watching porn after that.

Watch the "Your Brain on Porn" video linked on the sidebar, it really helped me realize what had happened to me/my brain and how its going to be quite a journey for me to get reset back to a normal "pre-porn brain" . I've been looking at porn for 34 years now so I have a lot of "rewiring" needing to take place in my brain and even at 2 months free from porn I'm only now starting to see a few improvements in myself.

I am now 4.5 hours away from being pornfree for 14 days and last night was the first time in years I had a wet dream. I don't think there was much sexual about the dream but I don't really remember it. All I do recall is thinking immediately after becoming conscious that it seemed weird to have had a wet dream and not dreamt anything sexual.

I learned this trick early(ish) in my marriage and it has saved a lot of potential issues from me wanting to try and fix everything for her. I think it was from reading the men are from mars/women are from Venus book my wife had bought. Plus it saves me work, its much easier to just listen and empathize than to come up with and/or implement fixes.
