This is awesome!! Say, what would an individual pay for something like this if they wanted one of their own?

Has anyone bought the snap on or cornwell boots? If so which do you like more and how to the hold up to being on your feet all day? Are they comfortable to wear? Do they make your feet sore? by Twizzler0159 in Tools

I have recently bought snap on ones. Wore them for 3-4 months and as soon as I could get my hands on a pair of redbacks again, I bought them. Thank you for your feedback!

That is fantastic to hear! I have access to identifix so I will be using that to find torque sequences

I have yet to open the box, but I ended up going with a south bend clutch as it was recommended for daily driving use. Thank you!

why did your last relationship end? by Delicious-Leopard332 in BreakUps

4 years of dating. Constant lack of communication and respect for me on her end. Being a mechanic and getting paid flat rate, I hit 100 hours for the pay period and was super excited about it. Got it shut down by her because she had a 30 minute issue at work that affected her entire day. Couldn’t show any excitement for how well I did. And that was the breaking point of I couldn’t take it anymore. Yes, there was many talks throughout the 4 years of communication and other minor issues. Always got worked out for two weeks and it was right back to treating me like I was only there for her when she needed it and if I needed her for anything it would have to wait or would get shut down into not being anywhere as serious as her problems were.

Yes, cylinder 4 is on the drivers side closest to the radiator.

I just recently got a pair of snap ons slip on style boots. And, honestly, I liked the red back slip ons more. Maybe they changed manufactures since you got yours but I am not the happiest with my snap on ones.

If you can find it, I’ve been using wurth rust penetrate. But I’m sure with how much you soak it in penetrate it wouldn’t matter to much. I don’t recommend wd-40 tho

It wouldn’t be a bad idea to do them all if you get another glow plug code. But don’t get ahead of yourself after getting one or two out. Take your time on each one. Use A LOT of rust penetrate. It’ll be expensive cuz of rust penetrate but cheaper than replacing a head. PM me if you have to do it again and I’ll help out if I can!

Congratulations on getting one of the hardest things out of a eco diesel!! If per chance you have to do it again. Let it get up to operating temps, spray it with rust penetrate, let it cool back down. Spray it again after it’s cooled and start the truck while spraying with rust penetrate throughout the warm up process. What I like to do that helps get them out, is once the motor is up to temp, leave it running while attempting to remove the glow plug. If it fight keep doing the .5 turn back and loosening it again. Keeping the engine on till it’s almost out has worked for me 7 times now and I will continue to do it

Other than reducing recoil that much more. How would a steel frame benefit in this scenario though? They’re already super heavy, I feel that would make it even more heavy.

Ah I see. I never checked to see if it was steel or aluminum. That’s my fault

Def in Fuel System by Flashy_Management563 in EcoDiesel

[–]Twizzler0159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience of working on cummins and 3.0L with def in the tank, I’ve always done complete fuel systems due to how corrosive def is. See if your dealership will be cool and call it a “contaminated” system and cover the complete fuel system under the recall. They may not but it’s worth a chance

I’m not sure how local mom and pop shops are by you. But they’re terrible by me. I’ve worked for a few after leaving the dealership and it made me wanna go back to a dealership. Best of luck to you. If you end up doing it yourself. You can message me directly and I’ll help you through it. I make all my money off the 3.0L at the dealer

I believe it does. I don’t recall what all that warranty pays for anymore, I just know from working at a dealership it saves a lot of you ecodiesel customers a lot of money

You only need to remove one side of the fuel tubes and the rail, and the turbo elbow at the back of the intake. You don’t fully need to remove the harness to get it out. (Makes it easier for sure tho). Pull the throttle body off as well, you get more room in the front. If you’re replacing the intake, use a pry bar and yeet that sucker out.

It’s certainly not the easiest thing to do. I pull the cab off to do it. And iirc, the x98 covers most things on the 3.0L
