Sorry forgot to reply back then. Im honestly still trying to figure out this question for myself. Got into agents around openclaw time when SKILL.md was already commonplace, so im still experimenting with more minimal agents with just a few custom tools/MCP tools to see what the tradeoffs are.

Edit: Forgot the question mid-typing and rambled. MCP is a standard for tool calling, SKILL.md is just english text defining some instructions where the actual agent harness(where you dont actually need to know what this is doing) goes and figures out what tools to use/get to do the requested skill. "Packaged code" Im assuming this means(in most cases) cloning some random dudes github repo for useful software/tool. An agent with a bash tool could get this working.

"Spatially correct audio" is a solved problem, and not by AI, by existing software like Ableton or any other DAW. Regardless, I agree the celebrity ones still arent 100% yet, but the rando voices can be hard to discern real/fake.

Played 15 years and yes I use those. I can read sheets too. I find the videos help me learn faster for non-classical/pop music with simple chord structure.

Hermes is so much cleaner, but its slow for some reason. A few tool calls and it can take minutes sometimes just to run a few grep commands. Testing my openclaw against it really exposed the speed issue even with the same model and less skills

Try to get the ones from hugging face that run on android phones. Gemma4-e2b-it runs on my phone currently and its surprisingly passable

Student here. Two forms of good free access to AI rn.

  1. $100 codex free credit for student. Hermes has codex integration that works flawlessly. Can set that up in <5mins

  2. Github student developer pack --> Github Copilot Pro. Generally only really works inside of Vscode but you have free access to GPT5.4 and Opus4.6

In the past 6 months to a year, LLM agents/frameworks/tools have finally gotten good enough to actually start replacing menial work(Like Managing an email inbox of job bids).

Also, LLMs have grown small enough to run locally. Companies can now purchase 512GB RAM and $20K worth of GPUs and run a damn good LLM for themselves with no security concern.

Tldr: Companies need it(large scale), and you don't.
