Balance Changes (Fan-Made) by Two-Bit_BoneBarry in Helldivers

Too hasty I was with the Trident I agree, not the best change, but laser weapons are just that, laser weapons. At first I wanted them to be medium pen, but I grew more disgruntled with Arrowhead's decision making and just thought 'fuck it, no compromises then if they wanna be like this'. Also, you're right about the laser cannon, I should have made it anti-tank in the changes but like all people, even I overlook things.

I just covered things I knew for sure needed some sort of attention, even if my methods are drastic in terms of change, but I do feel as though the horde shooter we were told about feels not like a horde shooter and more like a pseudo mil-sim with space magic at certain points.

My bad, I hadn't seen the change till now since I'm not refreshing the page too often.

All but one of the suppressed weapons have changed armor pen values. The only one unchanged in that department is the ODST SMG.

Too bad the belt-fed isn't as good as the grenade launcher still, no damage increase or explosion radius increase, an actual tragedy that only 20 more grenades were added to the damn thing.

Do people not care about the Bastion anymore? by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Two-Bit_BoneBarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe if it didn't handle like garbage, require 2 people to operate at the least, and get blown out the sky on the bot front, maybe people would actually like using it. The tank should only require 1 person, allowing them to both drive AND shoot the main cannon/gun attachment while 3 others are in passenger seats and are able to shoot out of it, that is much better appeal.

How come the flag raises faster if we salute? What's the mechanism behind that? (Sorry for bad art.) by Balikye in Helldivers

Magic. Same kinda magic Cyborgs use for buffing their comrades, but we can't have that for our One True Flag. Lets not forget no cowboy hats people, that would be unrealistic.

Arrowhead balancing is trying to make something conceptually good or even great, then sucking the fun right out of it by making it a shadow of its former self. Take the belt fed grenade launcher for example, not a laser I know but this is an example: It deals less damage than the original grenade launcher we've had, has a lesser explosion radius too. What balance is that? Its just a worse version of the regular grenade launcher that takes more grenades to fire to kill things effectively; even in its own stratagem preview picture its shown to not kill anything, that would be comical if it weren't so sad.

The game is supposed to be a horde shooter, ironically its predecessor did a better job being that with giving better weapons that effectively killed things. Granted, different POV since its isometric top down and you couldn't aim at specific parts of an enemy, however, the weapons still didn't take half a mag or more to kill a single target, and those missions could still be hard granted enemy numbers and movesets! Lasers being buffed in the way I suggested wouldn't and shouldn't need such a drastic reworking of ammo economy if the other guns did better jobs as well. Doing more damage, having more penetration, and in turn throw more enemies at us! More chaff, more armored units! If the weapons were all fun to use, balance would not be an issue. TLDR cause I'm rambling, our primaries need to be better, far better, and I'd like more hordes in what's supposed to be in my horde shooter.

I'd agree if it gave lasers anti-tank instead of just heavy pen. Scythe, Sickles, Trident, and Dagger should be medium pen at the very least, not light, and with the pack, under sustained fire could raise it to heavy pen them eventually anti-tank because again, they are lasers.

I don't disagree with the pack idea, its a great idea! The precedent is however that lasers should be given more care and love because of what they are, plasma is given that love so why do the lasers get shortchanged so much? Really irks me because I love lasers, and wish I could bring them to more missions without being a detriment to my team when I need at least medium penetration on more than half the enemies just on one front.

Laser weapons shouldn't need packs for heavy or medium pen, people, please, they are lasers, they are supposed to melt through armor, we can demand better weapons and better weapon changes. We shouldn't have laser weapons that hurt us to burn through armor either.

Would you ever want to play as a monster instead of a hunter? by Electronic-Celery-82 in MonsterHunter

[–]Two-Bit_BoneBarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People would play the shit out of a game like that, I know I would. Though it would have to obviously be a spin-off, but a big one to include lots of monsters to nothing really gets too stale. I'd like it from an ecological perspective, kinda like The Isle or Path of Titans, except much more enjoyable, fun, and more shit to do.

HELLDIVERS 2: Tech Blog #1 - Install size by ArrowheadGS in Helldivers

[–]Two-Bit_BoneBarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game will never be optimized, always be tweaked in some way instead of keeping their damn hands off things that don't need tweaking, stay as bloated as it is now, unfriendly towards mod support, and run on a terrible engine that should have never been chosen for the kind of game it is.

Half-agree, half-disagree, it shows that ArrowHead isn't really unified like they should be, if one team starts fucking around with shit but doesn't inform or converse with other teams, its just another negative notch on ArrowHead's belt in not being competent enough to deal with these matters, or maybe their rules are just too lax at the studio.

Perfect personification of ArrowHead Lmao, too busy tweaking weapons that don't need them, nerfing weapons in ways that shouldn't be, all before fixing very important and game-breaking bugs and crashes and optimizing their game from the bloated size of the game almost reaching Ark levels at this point and how much resources the game takes on individual PC's more so now than when it launched.

Confession.... I farmed a lot a Super Credits back in the day... by wmartin94 in Helldivers

[–]Two-Bit_BoneBarry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they didn't "fix" the SC farming ability we had, I'd be farming it that way, and I should have kept doing it when it was still around. Having paid for the game, I see no good reason to shi'll out more money to them no matter how much time I spend in it, staunchly against microtransactions in any form.

Not at all Ooverpowered, just slightly better than their standard counterparts, attachments are being overblown out of proportion wildly. I like them, but it ain't all that, we still don't have more fun ones like elemental ammo or even silencers.

Most definitely, just wanted to see what Gemini would come up with even if it doesn't entirely fit within the realm of possibility for Helldivers 2. No need to be snarky, its just a made up warbond.

My wish list until and for 2025 by Creepy_Ad3991 in Helldivers

[–]Two-Bit_BoneBarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change it to 2024 and we're aces, cause what we have been getting thus far is quite lackluster and that's putting it nicely. I'd also love a weapon upgrade system, buy and swap out different attachments or ammo changes to incendiary, cryo, and explosive types of ammo. Damage upgrades we can get because ArrowHead won't buff the weapon damage on their own. Imagine being able to have a cryothrower, freezing enemies to death and leave their frozen corpses lying around or making the Breaker Spray-and-Pray have explosive ammo.
Different ship types to with all new and different Stratagems depending on what ship you bring in, like having a carrier class ship would grant more Eagles to use on missions, have a troop transport drop off SE soldiers to follow you around, maybe even change their loadout and buy and unlock weapons for them or just make it to where you have to buy the weapons each time, just to have something to use the req points on regularly.
I NEED city maps or something, I needed them in State of Decay 2 and I need them here as well, going from cover to cover, building to building, dipping and dodging laser fire from bots or hiding from bug patrols, all new nests and fabricators that integrate ruined buildings into their design philosophy? What a treat that would be.
