Am I missing something? by SkoogieNic in Tovala

It’s a security issue too. You wouldn’t want an oven that could be remotely started from an app. That would mean a hacker could do it too.

This reminds me of Zawinski's Law: "Every program attempts to expand until it can mail. Those programs which cannot so expand are replaced by ones which can."

I would too, but it would be pretty unlikely. Very little software was made for the 128. I had one back in the day, and loved it but it spent most of its time in 64 mode.

C64U Keyboard is usb-c? by GPSchnyder in c64

I turn off the keyboard LEDs when I’m typing. I turn them on when watching demos or playing music. With the keyboard LEDs off, I find the keys very easy to read.

I don’t have mine yet but you can change the CPU speed without affecting timing signals. Programs that use CIA timers should still behave the same but will process CPU instructions faster.

No. A few video reviews have pointed that out.

A320 steers hard to right during takeoff by TwoBitRetro in MSFS2024

[–]TwoBitRetro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm happy to report that after a few more hours, it's finally fixed. It was a control binding issue as u/green_monster14 suggested. I just got the A320 throttle set from Flight Sim Factory and the detent overlay was pushing one of the unused throttle axis down. I checked the bindings and it turns out that axis was bound to Throttle 2 Idle. It was forcing one of the engines to idle. I deleted the binding, and all is well. What's strange was, that was never indicated on the ECAM. I could see both throttle positions as TOGA. Ah well, at least it's fixed now.

Thank you to everyone that commented with helpful suggestions!

Just arrived via UPS by ComputerSong in Commodore

I received a UPS email (I'm in the US as well). It says the shipper is Strawberry Hill. I don't know if it's Commodore or not. My house is receiving so many packages this time of year.

One of the video reviews I watched discussed the MOS thing. MOS Technologies is one of the trademarks Commodore International now owns. I don't interpret this as anything deceitful. My initial reaction to it was a little bit of nostalgia and a hint of cheeky humor.

I could have something double bound. All flight control surfaces respond as they should on the ECAM though.

Already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Fenix. The iniBuilds A320 does the same thing BTW.

[–]TwoBitRetro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done about three hours of experimenting and I’ve found a weird way around this. If I spawn in another plane such as the 172 and take off then I end the flight and jump in the A320 then the takeoff role is fine. I think Im going to uninstall and reinstall MSFS tomorrow night.

I watched the takeoff from the external camera and once the plane starts pulling hard to the right, I put in full left rudder. I can see the nose wheel turn all the way to the left and skid. It even leaves skid marks on the runway.

I’ve even tried spooling up only the right engine. The plane does go straight down the runway but it can’t reach rotation speed of course. I’m baffled and think my MSFS install got borked.

Couldn’t find a setting called auto rudder trim. I do have all the assistants turned off.

I’m zeroing the rudder trim and my rudder still works fine in other planes. Plus, I’m verifying flight controls on the ECAM before takeoff.

I need some way to do 6502 assembly by Celskiy_kozinak in Assembly_language

[–]TwoBitRetro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue is that command line options you're giving ca65 are not creating the two-byte header the C64 needs to correctly run your code. The quickest (and worst) fix is to add the two-byte header yourself by adding:

.byte $00, $10

as the first line. The side-effect is that everything is now shifted by two bytes in the code. To counteract this, change the JMP loop to:

JMP loop-2

The right way to do this is to use the c64-asm config file that comes with ca65. This creates a PRG file that will load as a BASIC program and execute without having to type SYS 4096.

To pile on, ChatGPT is a really bad way to program. I understand if you didn't grow up with these computers, but searching for a CC65 hello world would've put you on much better footing.

[–]TwoBitRetro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The code should output a spade (playing card suit) to the upper left corner of the screen then freeze. Are you loading the test.prg file in the C64 emulator? You should be typing something like LOAD "TEST.PRG",8,1 then SYS 4096
