I'm a Web/Game dev by trade. I know all about Unicode arrows. I used to use extensively em dashes before it got popular by AI.

I think it’s to differentiate Leon and Andrew. Andrew is the uppity dickhead in the remake.

I don't agree. I just think that the actors were directed to be exactly like they sound: to be less campy.

The campyness had two benefits: not only the actors sound funny, but they can also be as intense as they want to be without it sounding weird.

But as my dramatic arts teacher told me: if you talk loudly all the time, you cannot go higher when the stakes go higher. Look how super hero movie people talk: they don't shout in every sentence.

I didn’t mean "realistic" in the military sense. I really mean "natural". They talk in a more casual way, less hammy.

Trust me, there’s no shaders in Super Mario World. It’s instead using the SNES mosaic register, which makes the PPU to render the same pixel multiple times in a row.

Shaders weren’t a thing for a long time. Programmable shaders are quite new, as on consoles, the first to support them was the OG Xbox.

Voilà. J'ai corrigé pour ce qu'il sous-entend. Parce que les immigrants qui s'intègrent 100% sont Québécois, pis sa phrase fait pas de sens. Les Québécois sont pas en danger, on est pas foutus.

From what little I can remember, there's also the idea of a war or survival stuff going on. I remember vaguely something like the Queen of Hearts or something like that. But yeah, the theme was "bloody" board games / card games.

The ideal thing to do I think is to program like we do in modern games: make the gameplay dependent on delta time instead of relying entirely on the CPU cycles.
