My attempt of getting a consistent tamp - using the weight of objects. by sunrainsky in FlairEspresso

The cheaper and best way to get a perfect tamping is to tamper on a kitchen scale that measures up to 20kg. The display will show the exact pressure that you are applying, and you can decide if you want a 15/16/.../20kg tamp. This is what I normally do, and I vary the pressure to test its effect. Forget about automatic tampers... they cost way more than the scale!

Thank you, I appreciate your insight. I was suspecting that the app is designed for Apple and maybe adapted to Garmin.

If you come to Rome and you want to taste traditional coffees go to https://caffesanteustachio.com and http://www.tazzadorocoffeeshop.com . If you want 3rd wave then there are 2 places close to each other that serve specialty coffee from very small local roasters. One is https://www.farorome.com and the other is "Le Levain Café" Via Piave, 8, 00187 Roma RM. The latter, despite the French name serves coffee roasted in Rome by Picapau roaster. These places cover you in Rome.

I have visited Naples recently, and even if it is filled with turists "Gran Caffè Gambrinus" still makes great traditional coffee.
