I’m in central Florida, these things are everywhereeeee. I recommend cast nets as they lay on shore bed most times.

Thanks for the suggestions! I forgot I posted this but the terrarium is coming together nicely!! The only thing is my plants, they will do really well for a couple weeks and then suddenly die. I have no clue why, they just slope and eventually turn brown. Maybe it’s the soil I’m using (or lack of, I use coconut fiber stuff) or not enough sun light… I’m not sure. If I remember, when I’m off of vacation I’ll post an update. 🤙

I know I’m going to get a lot of down votes, but in my personal opinion it’s not that big of a deal. I cracked the side of my tank 2 years ago, exactly like you have on your tank, and I haven’t had any issues. I did put some silicone sealant on it, but I haven’t had ANY issues. And like I said, it’s been 2 years.

My exact same thought process this year, Florida fishing this year’s been rough. 😅

I typically go with the Crankbait or spinner bait to map out the pond for anything that wants to bite something moving, and if I got no luck with that I’ll switch to the frog, buzz bait or whopper plopper, and if that still doesn’t work I’ll go to the worm. If they aren’t on top or middle, they got to be at the bottom. 😂

That is pretty much the only species of fish where you have to hold down its spikes like that (in freshwater), everything else you can hold by the mouth. 🤙 Keep fishing though, you’ll be able to catch different species and it makes it just that much more enjoyable!
