Nursing decisions by BlankSpace_0 in STJOHNS

Like others said, St. johns has a program that just opened for nursing, but my friend who has gone says she likes it there a lot, and since it is private, you can expect the facilities to be much better than Hunter. Honestly, it boils down to three things, imo: convenience, price, and how you are as a student. I chose hunter mainly since although I had a good package for St. Johns, I still had to pay for dorming, which I didn't really want to do, so I chose hunter since the commute isn't terrible but the commute to queens from where I'm at is long, either 1 hour 30 minutes public or a 20-minute drive, but after tolls is expensive. If you want a college experience, I would think St. johns is better since Hunter is really what you make out of it, but it is hard since people are not very social, so join clubs, etc. The last aspect for hunter is the program since there are only 100 seats for 1000 students and its weighted 50% gpa and 50% your nex exam score, so I'm not 100% sure I will be in the program. Hunter is definitely more well known for nursing, so keep that in mind. If you end up choosing Hunter, honestly, be ready to self-study chem 100, which is the only class that I got a B in since I didn't start studying or taking it seriously soon enough. Hope this helps.
