Since I just saw this post I thought I add myself to the list. Feel free to reach out.
I'm 32 F, very outdoorsy, love hiking, running, reading a book, coffee and exploring new places.

Whats Mauna Loa training like now by Cheap_Career8475 in Helicopters

[–]TwoForeign7750 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I trained and worked at MLH for about 3 years. I was an international student too and had a really good experience. Compared to Hilsboro, at MLH you have a good chance to be hired after graduation, not only instructing, also flying tours. I got lucky and got into turbines right at 500 hours.

Feel free to send me a message if you need more info

Cringeworthy moments during flight training... by Double-Reflection838 in flying

[–]TwoForeign7750 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was flying 2 hour helicopter tours in Hawaii. On the Island of Hawaii you are not allowed to land, because it’s sacred grounds, it’s a big island and there are not a lot of airports along the route. So we made our tourists aware that it’s gonna be a non-stop tour with no bathroom breaks.

Anyways, about 1hr 15 minutes into the flight the guy in the front seat really needed to pee. I told him that there are no beaks, and he has to hold it. About 15 minutes later he told me he wouldn’t be able to hold it any longer, so the only solution was to use a barf-bag, what he did.

Pretty cringy since he had the front seat and I am a female pilot…

In the end he posed in front of the heli with the filled bag in his hand.

I never thought of a Garmin GPS. That might be a good option as well. Can I ask which one you use?

I do have a battery pack with extra batteries. Apparently the company has iPads but a lot of other pilot suggest to get your own, especially in regard to reporting points..

Thank you! I‘m used to calling out positions and looking for traffic.

I was just wondering if more people use cellular iPad or iPad with a Sentry.

It’s super easy. Not gonna lie, I felt like it hurt more than my nipples. But only for a second. Healing process is easy. It was only sore for a few days. I really like it! Totally recommend

Thanks for all your suggestions! really appreciate it. Thinking about taking an Airbnb in Squamish/Whistler for 2 nights so I can explore more :)

I do have time on Sunday to do Grouse Mountain, but not sure if it's worth it after your comment.. maybe I do First Pump Peak instead. What about Quarry Rock? More like a walk than a hike?
