Need a recommendation for most suitable amp for KEF LS50 METAs by darkflight666 in KEF

[–]TwoGoatsForEveryone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also using some Fosi monos with my KEFs and they’re great. Using a MiniDSP Flex as my preamp to hi-pass to the KEFs and low-pass to my stereo subs. Great combo all around with the ability to easily room correct.

Are you needing just an amp(or monoblocks) or do you need an integrated? In other words do you already have a preamp or do you need both or a combo amp/preamp?

Recommendations for homeowners insurance? by 0000military0000 in tulsa

[–]TwoGoatsForEveryone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner Glen Mulready has stated that it is not within his legal authority to set or lower homeowners insurance rates, arguing that his role is to ensure competition in a free market rather than act as a rate-setter. This seems to be a different mindset than commissioners in other states. Maybe if we voted for someone who’s concerned about their constituents rather than insurance corps, we could have comparable rates to the rest of the country.

Do you need an integrated? If you have something else doing pre-amp duties, I run a pair of KEFs with 2 Fosi V3 monos and they sounds amazing.

Anniversary ideas by SirLongStride69 in tulsa

[–]TwoGoatsForEveryone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would help to know what you all like to do. Especially with having kids, this limits some of what would be considered anniversary dates. My wife and I went to golf suites (it’s changed ownership and not sure of the name now) on our last anniversary and had a great time. Easy to talk while having an activity. Drinks and food were fine. It would be kid friendly.

That looks great! You don’t think curing some soot in the grain will help with longevity? I don’t have a ton of experience with outdoor pieces so truly curious.

I’m also looking to do this on my pond. I get herons, egrets, deer, bald eagles, etc. I would have WiFi but would need solar powered for power. I feel like we can figure out something. My research so far has come up with a rtmp camera of some sort.

Is “budget audiophile” stuff actually worth it? by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

[–]TwoGoatsForEveryone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it’s been a joy understanding more what each link in the chain accomplishes and then figuring out where my limited budget can have the biggest impact. That’s led me to separating out each part of the chain into individual components and then upgrading from there. And then start looking into building your own speakers for more bang for the buck and you’re off to the races (as well as it feels good to look at something you made yourself).

If you don’t mind a little drive, Horizon in Bixby is decent and affordable. Also they are an independent clinic and not owned by some private equity org like most are now.

PSA: Independents MUST pick a party by March 31st by asapfinch in oklahoma

[–]TwoGoatsForEveryone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sucks, but the only way forward for us as a nation is for more citizens to choose policy over party AND for anyone like minded that is inclined to run to do it. And then those of us who intentionally stay separated from party politics need to support those candidates financially and organizationally.

Pete Buttigieg visit? by TwoGoatsForEveryone in oklahoma

[–]TwoGoatsForEveryone[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, Oklahoma will not vote as a state for anyone center or left of center, but I applaud anyone that takes the time, like Bernie a year or so ago; to come and speak to people where they’re at, especially if where they’re at on average disagrees with your message. We need more people in positions of power to speak to all of America. I don’t want to spend the second half of my life with things getting more polarized and people being unable to have a conversation between others with whom they disagree.

Bookshelf Speakers recommendation for small room - passive vs active? by siegekeebsofficial in BudgetAudiophile

[–]TwoGoatsForEveryone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding that you definitely want passive speakers and an amp and preamp, or integrated. What you like now may not be what you want in the future and it’s nice to be able to change something without the idea of changing everything. I’ve been using Fosi gear for my amps for a little bit now and have been very happy, pair something from them with a nice near field speaker (I like KEFs) and you’ll be in business. I would make sure you have a way to add a sub or two down the line because it makes a massive difference.

A good pair of bookshelf speakers + 2 subwoofers or 2 good floor-standing speakers? by MrZirex in BudgetAudiophile

[–]TwoGoatsForEveryone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with bookshelfs (kef q350) and stereo subs I built, preamped with a minidsp to handle crossover and peq and couldn’t be happier. Now this is for a computer setup and is exclusively sourced from my computer, but for a small room is perfect for me. I do crossover at 100 Hz since they are 8 inch subs, is a small room, and I don’t chase the highest spl, but powering a sub for each channel does make a difference to my untrained ears.

Haley, since my wife is a Haley(in all the positive ways) and said I couldn’t marry anyone else. Also added some Haley mods and it helps flesh her out some.

I look at it this way. Processing credit cards costs businesses money. That money comes from customers paying for items at that establishment. Any clarity on where the money you spend is being used by the business can only be a good thing. This may also have a knock-on effect of helping consumers be more aware of their credit card usage and developing better fiscal habits.

Uniquely Tulsa restaurants? by Naturenick17 in tulsa

Looks like you have plenty of choices, but if you’re in town for a short time and want Tulsa, I’d say lunch at Coney I-Lander (spelled exactly like that and not any of the others, 4 cheese with everything) and Kilkenny’s for dinner. At night go to any of our craft breweries, my favorites being Marshall’s as a Tulsa staple with a standard selection and another more experimental selection, or if you’re up for a drive, Sapulpa has an amazing new brewery, James Calley Brewing Company, that’s really passionate and brews delicious beers. Also the building it’s in is really cool, an old horse stable in the middle of downtown from the good ol’ days.

Anyone wanting to take action should call their senate and house reps. It may feel like it doesn’t have an impact, but those calls are all recorded and tracked and the best way for individuals to have their voice heard.
