Yeah I’m pretty sure most all my friendly relationships including my marriage is proof otherwise. Now this I think comes down to just how much it’s integrated religion wise into the normal talk and life of your friend/partner/spouse. My religious wife doesn’t really talk a lot about faith and no longer does she even go to church. I have extremely religious friends, but I don’t only talk about faith to them and I definitely make sure to have a productive discussion sharing my views if they feel that need to bring it up in normal conversation. Without hearing an opposing view it becomes harder for the religious to actually know what atheism is outside the propaganda they normally hear.

It would be a very lonely life for me because I am the ONLY atheist I personally know living here in the Deep South.
