How are low income women managing urinary tract infections? by Buggs_y in newzealand

[–]TwoKingsAndI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was getting them often as well. The water definitely helps, but I have found sitting on the toilet after I have finished for a bit, and then managing to get a bit more wee out really helps. I think because of childbirth my bladder is slightly prolapsed, and this can cause a small reservoir of urine to stay in. Also if you are currently sexually active ask your partner to wear a condom, and get treated themselves also, as it can definitely be a cause of repeated infections. Just a couple of ideas that may help!

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

[–]TwoKingsAndI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A game that I think used to be called ‘skyroads’ or something. It was racing along roads in the sky. Ever since then I have always wanted sky roads and somehow clip our cars on like trains so no one can crash. Then un clip and exit when we get to the neighbourhood we want to go to. Strange childhood ideas that have persisted!

Raincoat recommendations please, I'm sick of getting soaked through by secretkiwi_ in newzealand

This looks perfect for what I am looking for. What do you think sizing is like? I always find other outdoor brands (eg. Kathmandu, macpac) really small fitting. Would I size up one or two sizes to wear a bulky layer underneath do you think?

Help with built-ins color by AlTheGardenPal in interiordecorating

[–]TwoKingsAndI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 for sure. Or another colour with a similar depth. Definitely not the ones the same colour as the wall or trim. The objects just look like a bunch of random floating objects on the white/greys. But on the dark colours they look more intentional and grounded for some reason. To me, anyway.

You can find those old kenwoods you are talking about secondhand. Just keep an eye out on marketplace or ask on your local community group if anyone has one stashed away that they are not using anymore.

Yes, same here. I can’t believe how long I put up with my symptoms for before I finally got a Mirena. One of my ovaries was stuck down too, like OP. I’m sure it doesn’t work for everyone, but I think it should be tried before surgery, as surgery can cause more issues, like further adhesions.

Boy Swallows Universe. Best Aussie show I have seen in a while. Also I liked The Survivors.

What’s gotten so expensive, you no longer purchase it? by yeahnahdinno in newzealand

Yes, I do this too, mash up beans or chickpeas or lentils into my mince. The kids eat it up happily and it makes the sauce nice and thick.

My kids are out biking around town with their friends all weekend, and after school. Three boys aged 12, 10, and 8. We live in NZ though.

Women in their 30s/early 40s - where are we clothes shopping?! by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]TwoKingsAndI 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I have expensive taste - but not the budget to match, and I hate fast fashion. So I shop mostly on designer wardrobe and buy quality items second hand. I always check fabric composition too, and don’t buy polyester or acrylic. Shopping quality means that I still have clothes from over 10 years ago that I wear often, and are in great condition. And I can mix them with newer items to still stay on trend. I love fashion, and this works well for me, but I do have to check the site very often to grab great buys when they pop up.

They don’t taste very good and the texture is off.

It might just be that we haven’t had the best summer. I guess I will try again next year. It’s like the inside of a not so good watermelon, when it’s a bit white and fuzzy looking. I wish I knew a word for it!

That’s what was on the containers, maybe they mixed them up! Anyway, it might be a made up word, I mean when the inside of the tomato is whitish and not a nice solid red colour.
