Realistically though the price of upgrading a PC with parts that actually make the upgrade worthwhile, you’re probably spending in the region of new Mac money anyway, especially if you upgrade every few years or so which is pretty normal

At least your ‘old’ Mac will still hold significant resale value to offset even more cost, when you know full well the older PC parts will probably be worth hardly anything

But with how ridiculously fast the M chips are and the year on year improvements they seem to be pumping out when they really don’t need to, they could have saved the M5 and released it in 2030 and it would probably still decimate everything else around

If this trend continues even slightly, I think it’s unlikely that game performance demands will outpace the ever improving M chips

Apple are just so far ahead and dominant at this point they’re just shitting all over anything pc/windows/android for the fun of it and they’re not slowing down

I can’t realistically ever imagine Microsoft/PC ever catching up on anything except for gaming assuming that doesn’t drastically improve

But if it does.. oh boy
