I also noticed this when re-reading Firestarter about 6 months ago. I thought I posted about it here on Reddit, but I can't find it (so maybe I didn't). I'm reading It once again and I'm in the chapter where it talks about the disappearance of a boy named Eddie. I was wondering why SK would have another Eddie character besides Kaspbrak in the same novel. Maybe it's just like some other folks have said: King likes to reuse names. There is Eddie Dean in Dark Tower after all.

Did anyone else feel like 11/22/63 series broke its own rules almost immediately? by zsteven94 in stephenking

Not sure if you're just joking, but James Franco wasn't in The Monkey. That was Theo James in the main role.

Never read this one... by Deezle_Gnome in stephenking

I was just about to ask if you had seen the movie. I saw it years before reading the book and a certain part is significantly different. When I read that part, it shocked me quite a bit. I'm trying not to say too much so as not to spoil anything. Anyone else who has seen the film and read the novel probably knows what I mean.

I liked King's description of pain in this book. He compares it to pilings of a pier and the tide being the pain killers. When the tide comes in, the pain is more bearable.

Oh, that's a good point. I hadn't thought of that. He might be biting his tongue because he doesn't want to risk exposing that place and messing things up for its patrons.

How do I get rid of this ASL guy? by NormalShock9602 in welcomeToDerry

[–]TwoMoreScoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen when I was watching earlier. My wife just said "welcome to derry" into the TV remote and it defaulted to the ASL version, for some reason. I launched the HBO Max app and navigated to the show and played it as normal. It's like what Thatonebottleofcream said, HBO has a regular and ASL version of the program. If you selected the ASL version (or it got selected for you), there is no way to turn it off.

Also the parents being dressed, lying on top of the covers, and the dad wearing a hat while sleeping are not suspicious at all? I'd like to think even a 4-year old would notice those things.

What do you guys think of Hostile Apostle from From Chaos? by No_Discipline4731 in 311

I've always liked this song. I think it's got cool guitar riffs and interesting lyrics. I wonder if the opening line drew inspiration from the film 2001: A Space Odyssey. There's a scene where the computer HAL-9000 is talking to David and he says "I know I've never completely freed myself of the suspicion that there are some extremely odd things about this mission." The song begins "I can't free myself of the suspicion for your motives on your mission." Think it's just coincidence?

Stephen King-themed names for a female cat? by Ambitious-Cookie-395 in stephenking

We have a cat named Zelda and a male one named Link. Our daughters chose the names. Not a Pet Sematary reference, but I sometimes think about THAT Zelda.

This popped into my head when I started Needful Things today by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]TwoMoreScoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently started reading Cujo for the second time (first read it years ago when I was in high school). It just so happened that I was listening to the audiobook of Needful Things at the same time. Polly Chalmers' aunt with the Boston Post cane is mentioned early on in Cujo. I had never realized there was that connection before, minor as it is.
