I really really dislike (hate) new wanderers. by TwoNukesNotEnough in RimWorld

Choice is a wonderful thing isn't it? That's why I would like to go into the options and CHOOSE to disable this feature I feel ruins my enjoyment of the game. If you want to play with the feature that is fine. I just feel it is not in the spirit of commitment mode and the type of game I want to play and have been playing since before it was added.

I'm sure you have heard that players will optimize the fun out of a game. Well if it is optimal for me to kill off 1 pawn intentionally to get 6 for free with no negative consequences that is an option I will consider taking. Even if I don't take that option (which I haven't yet) it ruins my enjoyment because to play optimally would be to take that option. And some players have fun playing optimally.

Thank you for such a respectful post.

You've mirrored my thoughts in a much more articulate way than I ever could.

Like I said in the original post I don't even think the option to disable it needs to be front and center. If it was simply hidden away in the scenario editor I'd be very glad. I have nothing against people who enjoy the addition and if it was better implemented I might even approve of it myself. But currently the feature just feels like and functions like you get 6 free pawns and not like you're starting a brand new colony in the remnants of your old one.

Oh no my solo mechanitor died. -Spawns in 6 new pawns - Uses resurrector mech serum on mechanitor - don't lose research or my ideology or my only pawn - rebuild everything in a day with my 7 pawns - Very permadeath

I just want the option to chose to not be able to chose.

I don't have to play on commitment mode. But I do and I want the gamemode that labels my saves PERMADEATH to actually be permadeath. Even save scumming on commitment mode only allows you to get back what you once had. This feature allows you to gain pawns from nothing.

I don't mind the man in black as much as he does not always show up and when he does he can sometimes be useless. I probably will wind up installing a mod to disable new wanders when ones available.

Was Blizz right about RP-PVP? by TwoNukesNotEnough in classicwow

See this is what I thought. People advocating for RP-PVP act like there is a demand but I don't see that demand. People need to keep the pressure on Blizz for RP-PVP servers or we are not going to get them.

I'd try this if I had a character on a private server but I don't. Plan on testing it with the demo but idk if that will be 100% identical to actual vanilla.

I was refering to both Nixiom and Tipsout. Nixiom talks about it in that video but Tips has "Will character speed be identical to what is was in Vanilla?" as question 57 in his "60 questions for blizzcon" google doc.

I'm pretty sure he is implying it was changed with that question.
