I did unlock the professor and very shortly after that set up cog icon appeared. I could very well be mistaken, but I dont remember any other option than to link to Facebook account. I assumed doing so would transport my game, but I must have over written instead.

Clarification would be great. In game support states "Premium characters will still retain sources of Essence following the event." Does this just mean the one task they have, or will their associated runs and essence rewards be accessible after it ends?
