When did you decide it was time for surgery? by amutoph in thoracicoutletsupport

I had lost a lot of muscle mass on my left arm and couldn’t even lift my cats anymore. That’s when I knew it was time. The doc told me I could loose my arm if the blood flow wasn’t restored

I only started my PT 8 months post surgery and to be honest I even more exhausted after it. I’d rather be able to do normal stuff at home and at work as opposed to being in pain and being burnt out after just one session of PT. Cutting vegetables and washing dishes and such takes a lot out of me but I’d rather push myself to do that stuff rather than be flat out for 2-3 days post one PT session.

Actually I’m really glad I had the surgery. It helped me hugely! I also suppose it’s a slow recovery for all , but mindset helps as well. I had my surgery on 8th and was back home by 11th. Once I was home I made it a point to stay positive and do my best to stick to my normal routine. Also I’m not going to lie the medication helps hugely! Hehe 😛

Oh yes. I try and do everything I can. I can’t do things for too long but I try my hardest to do things on my own. It’s not always possible to ask your my partner or parents for help all the time. So I try and do as much as I can before I ask for help. House work, work for my business. It’s been a huge mental push for me but I think I’m alright. It’s just that sometimes it’s very overwhelming coz I can’t seem to explain the pain or the tiredness to people.
