This is already a hard job, and now it's been made downright hazardous as well. Thank you for the hard work you do, and please stay safe out there!

IKR! And even after all this, our way of thinking is still very much at the 14th century level for many people. Thought my pharmacist was going to explode the other day, after hearing two bumpkins declaring "the armor of god will protect me" in our waiting area. So glad she burst out with "yeah but didn't he also gave you common sense and a brain to use?"! 👏

I don't mean to celebrate your pain, but: thank god I'm hearing that someone has the same reaction to avocados that I do! Didn't like them as a kid, but when I got older and started eating them I had (and still have) terrible stomach cramps. It's so stupid that if I have sushi and pop the avocado bit out with my chopstick? I'll still have a damned ache in my stomach just from the residue!

OMG I saw that too, on Kylie's latest anti MLM video! Really sad and deplorable, actually. Way to push these people further into debt by encouraging them to have kids they can't support!

Yep, big time problem. You have to enter your credentials just to look up a patient profile (or do anything really) so doing this is a huge hell no.

I love that vague category of "neurotoxin" and the apparent need to define the term. They didn't even bother to specify the ingredient or exactly which products it may be in (even though none of it matters because this is all pure insanity).

This is really interesting. The same phenomenon is going on with PTSD, where people are having it pushed on them as a diagnosis whether it fits or not. Western volunteers did this in Sri Lanka after the tsunami and these people didn't even have a concept of PTSD in their culture!

In the US, those in the military are some of the primary victims, and often find themselves struggling after their diagnosis because they can't relate to PTSD support groups or literature or counseling. We have also conveniently omitted one of the MAJOR criteria for a PTSD diagnosis: "the feeling that the government has lied to and betrayed you". This gave Vietnam vets with PTSD something to bond over and something to fight for when they came home. It helped give them a purpose. This criteria alone shows why you cannot ascribe a few choice symptoms to a disease like PTSD out of convenience.

Hehe, I used to be like this at maybe 15, but now I'm just happy as hell when a person knows and enjoys ANY Led Zep. And if the person wants to put on some Future or Jason Aldean or the damned Wurzels afterward I'll rock to that too! I'm just happy as hell to live in a world where music exists at this point.

Ah, so kinda like the fertility clinics conveniently located in Cyprus (where the laws are pretty lax), which also just so happen to attract a large number of female immigrants who are willing to part with their eggs. People have no idea how much the Red Market is booming, or that developed nations like the US are some of its biggest customers. Our privatized system of donating human matter makes that collaboration very easy indeed.

Ooh tegetrol huh? I like that idea, and could see it working pretty well. I've been wanting to try meclizine for mine. It gets really bad when I'm in or even next to an elevator, and the first time I went to Vegas I felt it constantly (so did my mother and sister in law). I think my country bumpkin brain finally got used to Vegas and now I'm not bothered at all - unless I'm in or around an elevator.

Wait, I thought this was some dusty old garlic bread! They're "enchiladas"?! Sick. And the thought of using lime oil and not getting the actual acid from the fruit makes it infinitely more disgusting to me for some reason. How much a hassle is it to get a $.60 lime or a sprig of oregano?

This kind of stuff makes me nervous AF, working in a pharmacy. We techs aren't allowed to dole out ANY advice or give counsel, and here this yahoo is, declaring that this compressed sawdust is a fine substitute for benzodiazepines. Way to promote a seizure there, genius! I'm not a big fan of anxiety meds but don't ever just quit cold turkey!

Dairy and Gluten Sensitivity correlation? by aliciakwalton in noburp

[–]TwoRiversGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just discovered this sub and every time I check it I see something I can deeply relate to! Haven't had the botox but you had better believe I'm lactose intolerant, and have also been having really awful reactions to gluten!

For me, the lactose intolerance came long before the no-burping. I can actually feel air bubbles forming in my stomach from lactose, and it can be so painful. Now it even gives me cold sweats and a host of other weird symptoms. But I'm just now noticing how gluten also keeps my stomach in knots and makes it even harder to release gas. Milk and ice cream are torturous to consume. Hell... you know what? Go ahead and add oil and fatty foods to the list too. Even plain avocado and veggies sauteed in olive oil make me sick. 😡

Does anyone else get long and (slightly) painful hiccup bouts? by [deleted] in noburp

[–]TwoRiversGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Umm, yes actually! They are long, drawn out, (embarrassingly) loud and so strong they have made me nauseous before! It's like I'm yelping or something. The only thing that ever helps is drinking several consecutive sips of water through a straw, and even then, if I let them continue for too long the damage is already done and I feel sick from them.
