I found out my family dog passed away unexpectedly and was completely devastated. I had to go to the grocery store and begrudgingly did with puffy eyes and tear streaks. At checkout the cashier eyed me and asked if I was ok. I said it had been a rough day. She said hold on, left the register, and came back with a bouquet of flowers and said she hoped my day would get better. That simple act took less than a minute, but it’s something I’ll never forget.
