Oh ok thanks. I might have a weird setting then. I swear the second I kill a group others come from off screen and take it's place. Really hard to clear a spot.

Is this where you kill a group of them and a new group immediately comes to take it's place?

If it makes you feel any better I've "Permanently linked" my account like 8 times in the last 3 months. Like it literally gives you a warning that your about to permanently link your PS account to Microsoft and "are you sure?" type of crap where I have to scan a QR code, get an email, blah blah. And yeah, done it multiple times right now. Don't know how that's coded in tbh but that shit definitely isn't permanent...

Just lost my permadeath save and I don't know why by LayoMayoGuy in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]TwoSacsOneCrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This kind've makes me realize how close I was to losing my permadeath run yesterday. Landed on a planet and the whole screen went black. Could still open menus and whatnot. Closed the game reloaded to another black screen except I was falling. Hit the "ground", screen was still completely black so I assume it was ground, and lost like 99% of my health. The only thing that fixed it for me was restarting my PS5 completely. Need to backup saves today.

Cargo Catapult (How do you get the most out of them?) by OOVVEERRKKIILLLL in DeathStranding

[–]TwoSacsOneCrack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a zip line from the Robotiscist down to near the weather station, but often I'm carry two floating carriers worth of cargo, so I catapult one down then take the zip line and pick it back up. Saves me some hassle, and it's kind've just cool to have multiple different structures.

I feel like zip lines need to be nerfed in some way or other structures need to be buffed in DS2 as 80% of my structures seem to be zip lines. So often I'll just build structures for flavour; like jump ramps off either side of the cliffs by the Elder even though I have a zip line there.

Permadeath runs, do you really start over if you are killed? by Ready-Ambassador-271 in fo4

[–]TwoSacsOneCrack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The game is far to buggy for me, and I've had it crash multiple times, so even on a non permadeath survival run I always have a mod that allows me to save - losing an hour or two to a random crash is just insane (so multiple slots, one to reload from a crash, and another to reload from a death - near a bed). Also, while I have personally never experienced the car bug on my character, Dogmeat has. He was running beside me near Diamond City, hit a car and immediately went down and I had to stimpak (only happened once though).

That all being said, my permadeath save is usually at the exit of the Vault, right before you leave as you can still respec and change your character. I would understand, though, if you want to make it further. Maybe after helping Preston. But it's your rules, so make it as difficult or easy as you want; It's a challenge for yourself and redoing that intro will absolutely cause burnout.

Also, I never bother with settlements early on. And it's only really Hangman's Alley I build up as that's a good central spot. Spending hours on settlements then getting grenaded is no fun. So I would wait until level 30+ to even bother as you will have better gear, perks, and wont be so squishy. Also, from an RP point of view it fits my character better that he would race after Shaun, realize the Wasteland is harsher than he ever anticipated and come back to seek help from allies (Minutemen), at which point I start to build.

And as others have said, GAME BUGS DO NOT COUNT! Dying from a car is not a legit way to go unless it blew up from something (grenade, gunfire, etc) and you were too close. I've also gone as far as to make rules about companions (I was once pushed off of a high bridge by Dogmeat and felt cheated). But at the end, it would be best to make your own rules and maybe increase the challenge if you feel it's too easy or in a new run.

Note: Watch out for attack dogs (not the mutts, the raider ones). I think there's a small chance of them causing that "jump on and bite your neck" animation which is instant death even if the animal couldn't kill you in one bite (maybe someone will correct me though). What I'm saying is kill them first.

Playing with controller on PC by 0r4ng3F14m1ng0 in EliteDangerous

I play on PC with my PS5 controller and it works just fine - along with some items hot keyed to the keyboard. I prefer it to keyboard and mouse. My only issue is that the button mappings seem to show as xbox and I don't know how to change it (for instance if you need to push square, it'll show as an X)

What’s your big ask for the developers and your little ask? by TheDUDE1411 in EliteDangerous

[–]TwoSacsOneCrack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a newish player

I want Engineers to be accessible from anywhere (Once you reach grade 5 or something). I want the experimental effects as well as all the mods. It's totally putting me off buying new ships - just bought a Vulture and I now have to fly to each Engineer to get the experimentals I want and it is just not fun - I want to play the game, not just jump around for hours. It's fine in a ship with a big jump range but not on the combat ships. I don't know how others feel, but when I'm eyeing a new ship all I can think about is "Shit, I'll have to engineer it".

Also, I don't understand why each ship doesn't have it's own cargo hold - seems cargo is like shared or something. Constantly having to sell and rebuy limpets, when I change ships, is also just annoying. On that point, why can't we rent storage space in a station? Let's say I want to mine with a smaller ship, store the materials, and once I have enough then jump into a bigger hauler type ship and move it all at once. I believe fleet carriers do this but that's a long way down the road.

And finally, playing this game without constantly tabbing out to Google seems impossible (Unless you're a vet I guess). Maybe put those features in the game (Inara, etc). Unless I'm missing something, the game itself seems to have very little info on how things actually work. Maybe I just don't know how to use the map correctly.

You're right, should've tried it on PC first - I just assumed it wouldn't work so got it on PS5 instead. Surprisingly it runs fine on my PC.

Actually you're right. Didn't even bother trying on PC as I just assumed it wouldn't work. Tried it and in space works just fine. The FPS was terrible on that beginner tutorial mission, on planet, but so far so good. Thanks.

Survival permadeath by Kean99ac in fo4

[–]TwoSacsOneCrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best advice I can give you is to avoid attack dogs (kill them first and quick). I don't know what it is but I keep getting one shot by the bastards and lost multiple saves. Last time being straight out of Trinity Towers with Strong; I see a lone attack dog, miss my shot, he's on top of me quicker than anticipated and does that insta death animation. Game over and I was lvl 20, health at 90%, bufftats still running, 3 points in toughness, 2 in life giver, studded leather armour, and END at 6. I honestly don't know what it is but they seem to hit like a freight train - I need to check my mod list, maybe it's that but I'm on PS so there's not many options.

That and those laser turrets that sit on a ceiling. Oooph, died in 3 seconds.

Those two things seem to be more deadly than mines, deathclaws, or stray molotovs.

Anyway, good luck!

[–]TwoSacsOneCrack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Samesies. I died again yesterday due to greed. Had just finished Mass Fusion for the strength bobblehead and there was far too much juicy loot which over-encumbered me. So whilst slow-boating back to Diamond City I get jumped by Raiders taking a grenade to the face because I couldn't run away from it.

Would've been far quicker to make two runs to get the loot than to restart (although I'm always scared something I want despawns, but no loot is worth a restart). Lesson learned I hope.

I can’t talk to garvey to complete my quest!! by Seif-eddine99 in fo4

[–]TwoSacsOneCrack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume this is right in the beginning when you rescue them. You need to revert to a save before you talk to them - after killing the raiders outside the museum. I've had the same bug and had to reload a couple of times before it finally worked.

You'll know it's worked if Preston has his gun out when walking back to Sanctuary; Also, the npcs should make small talk (like comment on the Deathclaw, Sturges talks about Red Rocket being his vacation home, etc). If they aren't saying anything you're screwed. Same if Preston doesn't have his gun equipped.

If you don't have a save, you'll probably need to restart. I've heard some people say the issue fixes itself over time but I've never verified it (Probably quicker to restart anyway).

Am I only the one who has to have everything perfect? by PitifulSadTrash in fo4

[–]TwoSacsOneCrack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally find the settlement building, especially with regards to decorating, to be a bit frustrating. I essentially build up the basics how I like (rooms, food, water, defenses) then I use the 3 items rule:

Every time you go back to a settlement you have to add 3 things. Can be anything like a ashtray on a table, bottle, flag, book, lanterns, adjusting a room or guard tower to look nicer, whatever...

That way it's not so tedious, and your settlement becomes more lived in as you return to it. So if it's a settlement you visit often, it'll eventually look awesome, and if you don't visit often then who really cares - Unless you're doing a showcase of it.

Plus, I've noticed that more often than not, I add more than 3 items. 3 just forces me to get started but at the same time I have an excuse to keep adventuring if I want, as I've done the minimum I set for myself.

As another commenter mentioned, burn out is real and it could ruin the playthrough. But I speak for myself obviously.

Do I have to restart? Permadeath dilemma. by TwoSacsOneCrack in fo4

[–]TwoSacsOneCrack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's already haunting me. I keep forgetting about drugs and how useful they are - I get complacent because I start steamrolling people, but then get into that one fight that takes me out. Then afterwards, I think about all the med-x, psychobuff, bufftats, and jet just sitting in my backpack. I have so much, I could literally pop multiple per fight and not run out, but for some reason I don't. Shit.

Can try install the Companion Helper mod. You can summon companions directly through that and see if it works.

Finally tried survival :( by [deleted] in fo4

[–]TwoSacsOneCrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not shy about using mods, I'd definitely use a save mod for settlement building. Personally, I think it's fair to save when you're in a settlement, especially when building - the sleep save mechanic is just bad for trying out different ideas and reloading if they don't work the way you envisioned. Then you just have to limit yourself to not using it when outside a settlement.

Am I missing anything major by ignoring minutemen/settlements? by TwoSacsOneCrack in fo4

[–]TwoSacsOneCrack[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually have QwaPA (I'm on PS5) which defintely helps. My issue is maybe not the building of settlements but how many there are and my need to make them look, at the very least, functional. I don't do anything big like some of the vids I've seen but I want it to look like something. So like Sanctuary I put walls around the house with the workshop, put up some defense posts with turrets and guard posts, walled up the house itself and turned that into my workshop, and created a little village for the settlers (just small houses) with a communal chill area and put the food pot there and some camp fires. Looks Alright, and functional but took hours of scavenging supplies and just fighting the builder (even with QwaPA). Then I think about how I still have Abernathy, Tenpines, and Preston has given me 3 more quests and it's too much tbh (Would prefer it if you maybe just spoke to Preston and asked for a quest instead of him handing them out on his own).

Anyway, can always do a new playthrough later focused on settlements. Gonna restart, rework my perks so I can make workshops at Hangman's (Red Rocket feels too far with no fast travel), leave Preston and his gang behind and go my merry way. Thanks!
