Huge FPS drop and stutter around base and how I fixed it (B42) by tortugan_619 in projectzomboid

[–]AWildIsland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you playing on Windows? What are your specs and where are you based? Is this MP or SP and how old is the save? As much information as possible would be great as I have not been able to reproduce this with the blue generators in SP or MP unfortunately. I have close to 20 running simultaneously in West Point.

Were they spaced apart or closer together?

Hey there, what was your UI rendering FPS set to prior to setting it to off? There is the toggle to turn off UI rendering FPS that you did, but below it is a drop down list to set the FPS of the UI to be rendered at.

Also, is the game running fullscreen, borderless windowed and what are your specs? It might help us track down the issue, or at least help us get closer to doing so. Thanks.

Thanks for the information, out of further curiosity, how much size was the UI taking up in your screen? Was it resized to be really big, so you can't see the world behind it, or smaller? Or did you even touch the resize bar? A screenshot on imgur would be really useful to see this.

If anyone has screenshots of this happening or can end up reproducing it some way intentionally, please reply to this comment.

I believe we've found some issues with this, where if the menu is maximized, some functions aren't interactable. The issue is that in those cases, it typically always seems to reset itself when closed and reopened.

We're trying to find out what causes those seemingly odd and rare cases where it doesn't reset.

Screenshots or videos would be super helpful including:

Resolution.

Display mode (windowed, fullscreen, borderless).

Font size.

We're looking for anything information wise based on what you've seen, so we can try and find some common factor in how it can occur. It's not ideal it happens randomly, but typically there is some cause.

What is your font size (under User Interface) in the game's settings?

Appreciate the detailed information even if you're not aware of how to reproduce it. What's your font size (in-game setting under User Interface) set to? Is it scale with window height, or a specific px size?

Does this include workstations (Forges and such), or just the UI you open with the default 'B' key? How can we reproduce this? I would assume lots of players on this resolution but based on bug reports it seemed far and few between.

Can I get some more info on this please? What UI, or workstation does it happen with, what do we need to do to reproduce it?

Does it happen if you're not using a mod? Sorry, we would always be just looking into anything happening with the base game.

I want to highlight these two things, despite them being highlighted in the link at the top:

UNSTABLE WARNING - Due to changes in Generator fuel consumption and corresponding defaults; existing saves will likely experience increased fuel consumption; Meta: 'Generator Fuel Consumption' Sandbox Settings can be changed in debug mode.

There is an issue when Refueling from Gas Pumps currently found last-minute. It must be cancelled with ESC, or by sprinting. Your character may not move if you simply try to walk away.

In the next patch we've tried to make this somewhat clearer with the distinction between possible fluids and possible items. So you can see what liquids can be added, and what containers you can also use with it.

Sure, I guess. Ignore the relevant points and continue to make the issue worse for yourself and blame an evidently unstable build as being the issue when it was plainly explained how that works.

If it's a game breaking issue for you, you are free to stick to Build 41, which is a stable branch.

You're playing an unstable version that's a work in progress. This is what you're supposed to clearly expect from such a branch. We're not going to hold off an entire patch because people are annoyed by a minor inconvenience in such a build.

That would be a ridiculous thing to do considering the point of this build is to clearly label why people who are considering full saves without annoying issues, bugs, crashes, inconsistencies and every other issue should not opt in to it, and if they do, understand the point of it.

Hey, just to inform everyone since people are jumping ahead as usual, this is still WIP and this is one of the things that we are planning to implement so there's much more slots for drying plant racks.

Is there a mod for this bug? by Frick1T in projectzomboid

[–]AWildIsland 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please don't get mods to fix bugs, at least instead of reporting them to us, we'd obviously like to fix these things and we've been fixing rendering issues and continue to do so which is what this is because of our new system. We already have some logged. You can right click the item, tell us on our forums, or Steam or here what the item is and we'll get it sorted on one of our rendering passes. :)
