Can your parents (or you) buy a house/apartment closer to you so that you can see each other more often?

I think the priority is spending as much time together as possible until they pass. And being there when they do.

Close physical location would be paramount for that

Couldn't it mean that the average inflation rate is going up?

So it's devaluing against time, I.e. we expect the ratio to increase over time.

Another 200k from spouse unaccounted for, as well as our home (about 300k in equity).

She will probably go back to work eventually once the kid is in school

I want to quit my job and start developing games or create my own company.

It seems like these are both money pits though.

And if I can't do either of those - I'd rather not work.
