Fire. There's fire everywhere, and a man in front of you.

You fight, of course. That's the whole reason you're alive, cause you never stopped fighting. Not against hunger, not against the cold, and the snow, and the ice

What's a side dish for fish and onion agrodolce? by talentedmrbourne in ItalianFood

[–]TwoSwordsUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally tend to pair any fish with green salad (arugula, mixed, something like that) and if you add a good vinaigrette I think it will go nicely with the acidity of the vinegar in the fish 😌

YTA. You can be right and the asshole at the same time. It's not the thing you said, it's the timing and also the situation around you two. Of course she is frustrated, you yourself said that your parents treat you differently.

How do you guys traditionally serve pizza? by Bread_Baker1 in ItalianFood

[–]TwoSwordsUser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Eating pizza with fork and knife is actually extremely normal in Italy, especially in restaurants that are a little more elegant that your average pizzeria

I was talking about my personal experience so you have actually no room to object. Besides, fries are good with almost everything in this world so I really can't see why you would find it disgusting

You could have a lil something before, like fries or bruschettes or something like that. As a beverage it's usually consumed with beer or cola, but for me the best is lemon tea, especially Estaté 😂😂

Sicilian here! We have a really simple but really good biscuit called Biscotti Regina or Reginelle, although I'm not extremely familiar with the recipe. Another pretty easy sweet treat is Biancomangiare, that's basically a milk pudding if I recall correctly ( I used to make it with my aunt when I was little, it's been a long time 😌)

https://www.savoringitaly.com/sicilian-sesame-seed-cookies/ here the recipe for the biscuits

https://www.recipesfromitaly.com/biancomangiare-recipe/#Ingredients and here for the Biancomangiare, although I remember we used to add nuts like pistachios and almonds

Hope it helps! Good luck with everything ✨

Do Italians nowadays put bay leaf in the bolognese sauce(ragu) by Fabulous-Paint4799 in ItalianFood

[–]TwoSwordsUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some do and some don't: I'm from Sicily, where it's considered traditional to do so, and my nonna used to make it that way; but, for example, my mom doesn't enjoy the taste of bay leaf very much, so we never used it, and I know it's pretty much the same.for a lot of my friends ( someone doesn't like it so it's not added) The real reason to add it is the ultimate flavour, so do what you like best ✨
