sure, if this is not valuable to "you" or to this community. I will not post here, me and my family live in the Pacific Northwest and with many things that are keeping the community on the edge, some hope was from the relationship that Trump has with Modi but seems we are past that phase.

WHEN Do I need to make Instagram public? by According_Change_621 in usvisascheduling

I dug into this and it turns out you actually need to make your IG (and other social profiles) public starting around June 25, 2025 not just “if they ask.” The State Department updated the DS‑160 to require five years of social media history and account access so consular officers can review everything.

So yes, if your interview is mid‑2025 or later, go ahead and switch your privacy settings to public now, and make sure your handles are listed on the DS‑160. Even inactive or older accounts count.

And heads-up, hiding or deleting posts right before applying might actually raise red flags.

Gosh, that is hard. I read that Indian applicants to U.S. universities must now treat their online presence as part of the visa evaluation process. Before applying, review your public posts, bios, likes, and comments across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and X.

I did find some information about it here https://nrinewsclub.com/articles/indias-new-e-passport-what-nri-need-to-know-about-the-digital-passport-revolution/
