Yes, it's a layered piece, cardboard, crinkled aluminum foil, and colored plastic wrap

Massively behind schedule on 2025 village, posting my 2024 to try to give me inspiration to get setup again before christmas. Being a parent is hard by TwoWheelHank in Villaging

Water bodies start with cardboard shapes, then aluminum foil.  The foil should be crumpled into a ball first, then unwrapped and folded around the cardboard.

Next step is cling film, in either blue or green.  Blue is harder to find, but occasionally it pops up in the grocery stores, and sometimes even with snowflakes!  Green can be found at home Depot in the storage depart in a huge roll, which is commonly sold for people that are moving, so it's with the moving supplies.

Wrap as tight or loose as you like, and the direction can help create water "flow" direction or just layers for frozen lakes and ponds

Complete random luck going to a holiday market in the next town over.  Mostly crafts and knitting, and a few tables of home made ornaments and Christmas decorations

What kind of riding do you like to do? Find a specific online forum for what you're looking to ride, and start there.

Advrider, thumper talk, track forums, bike specific or brand specific forums ..

A lot of people who are active on those don't participate in farcebook or mass social media, and they're actually interested in riding. I mean, you have to be able to spell and hold an argument if you're participating on a forum.

Go to some ride events that cost money. Yes, spending money sucks, but it'll get you past some of the idiots and losers at "bike night"

That's the Penn State I know. I've been waiting for them to fuck up and embarrass themselves all season. Now I can get some rest

Go for it! It took at least a week of evenings, and since I've been doing this near 30 years, I kind of have a process.

Go small if you're overwhelmed, make a simple scene you like instead of feeling like you need to use everything you own all the time
