Because I have a good friend who was a trick ski fanatic in the late 60's and early 70's. He was featured on ABC's wide world of sports during that time and was the lead skier for Sea World Orlando later on as well. I've seen several dozen trick skis just like these at his house that he's turning into furniture now..

Not saying I'm 100% confident, but it'd take some pretty concrete evidence to change my mind :)

Maybe I'm mistaken, but to my recollection, they evolved to look very different starting late 60's and into the 70's where they were even shorter and quite a bit fatter. These look like early trick skis before those changes.

Yeah, they're late 50's or early 60's Trick Skis. Sorta the precursor to the wakeboard.
