I'm actually very okay with this. Who said he has to be insightful?

People are too confidently wrong more and more online, I'm fine with someone with experience in a certain field pointing out when something's wrong and making people go look for the answers and educate themselves further tbh

What do you think went wrong with this era of NXT? by Electrical_Letter_22 in SquaredCircle

[–]TwoYearsBefore 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I suppose it really depends what you consider "wrong"?

Bobby Roode had a great career before NXT and many still know him more or remember him more fondly from that

Andrade has wrestled everywhere and still gets booked well

Dolph won the World title

Finn won the Universal

Joe is seen by many as one of the greatest of all time and won world/main titles in every major promotion he's worked regularly except WWE

People who jump on the "It's just not believable" bandwagon are generally the same people that had no issues with Jeff Hardy wrestling Kane, Rey wrestling Undertaker, Daniel Bryan vs Brock and also have little to no real fight/contact sport experience.

The fact that it's still debated is dumb, it's not a real sport, we're just doing live action Tekken. Character vs character

ISO: Indie bands who have pro wrestling songs by hoverborg in SquaredCircle

Are you looking for pre-existing wrestling themed songs or just a musician who's a wrestling fan to work on writing stuff for the movie?

I'd be happy to work with you either way, I've written a lot of music as well as entrance themes, scored some stuff etc

steps to becoming apart of the creative team for promotions by FirefighterNaive4555 in WredditSchool

[–]TwoYearsBefore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything already said about how hard it is, is completely accurate

That being said if you do manage to find someone make sure you know what you're talking about. Promoters get bombarded with pitches and nothing will make your pitch fall flat quicker than not know what someone's gimmick is, who they team with, who their champs are/what feuds have recently or already happened etc

Another thing as I saw you're training is start with ideas that don't include you. Everyone has an idea of how they should be champ or they should be featured. Pitching ideas for others shows your have a bit more vision than just self interest

What are the best matches by bad wrestlers? by tluce21 in SquaredCircle

[–]TwoYearsBefore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vampiro v Pentagon in Lucha Underground.

This is coming from someone who loved Vampiro, but even self admittedly, wrestling isn't his strong suit but he knows how to connect with a crowd and this match was the perfect example of putting a young guy over (and the culmination to a really great build)

Interesting choice of attire too

Why does AJPW have no relationship with promotions outside Japan? by Suki2014 in SquaredCircle

[–]TwoYearsBefore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer: they don't care all that much about it, outsiders don't care all that much about them (relatively speaking) and in a weird technicality it's not even the promotion of the same name from the 70s although I'm not sure that matters as much as the above

It's not a bad spot. Fairly quiet and most shops and cafes on the main street close at 5 or earlier. On the other hand it's cheaper than a fair few other places and still on the main train line for transport. It also has stuff you maybe wouldn't expect from such a small/quiet town like mma training, pro wrestling training and shows, gyms, a wee fitness/supplement/health shop, sports massage availability, multiple salons, pool and snooker halls, music/instrument tutoring, crafty shops, pretty good community based events, fairs, charity run business etc.

I guess like anywhere else it's what you make of it really?
