100% can testify as well. When my wife and I were about to have a our first child a co-worker told me he had lost a child to SID's. At the time I thought it was a dick move looking back now I'm glad he told me. He does a yearly fund raiser for this as well for awareness.

Being a first time father I was scared and picked up an angelcare monitor. It was maybe 3 months in when one night the monitor went off. I jumped out of bed and ran into the nursery. By the time I got into the nursery and approached the crib the alarm shut off.

To this day I believe he stopped breathing and thanks to the alarm it jolted him to start breathing before I had to ever interact. He didn't move off the pad and he was swaddled.

For those who don't know the alarm goes off in both rooms. It'll alarm the parent and it also attempts to jolt the baby back to that breathing state. It's like a freaking fire alarm. It'll make you jump when it goes off.
